Leadership communication has become increasingly important, and the need for a social CEO has never been greater. Yet, our latest report, The Missing Communications Channel: The Case for a Social CEO, reveals that only 33% of JSE 100 executives are actively posting on LinkedIn—far behind their global peers. Using our Digital Impact Score, we analysed JSE 100 executives to explore how leadership teams can better leverage social platforms to build trust, drive engagement, and enhance corporate reputation. The findings are clear: socially active leaders deliver greater impact. Download the report to learn more: https://lnkd.in/eQHuXmRg #SocialCEO #LeadershipComms #StrategicCommunications

We all know that trust is important at work, but there's a trust gap we need to discuss. A 2024 PwC survey found that "86% of business executives think employee trust is high, compared to 67% of employees who say they highly trust their employer. This employee trust gap of 18 points is higher than in the past." Employees don't trust their leaders as much as the leaders think they do. Leadership teams could take a quick inventory by answering the following questions: 1. Are our policies and processes built on our greatest hopes/aspirations or our greatest fears? 2. How is trust among the C-Suite, and what are we avoiding that should be addressed? 3. What fun, informative listening tours/town halls can we create to keep people updated and feeling heard/recognized? 4. Are we adequately developing our middle managers to handle all the situations they experience effectively? #leadership #buildingtrust #highimpactmanager

An online presence for executives is not just about visibility—it's about leadership. The goal is to set a narrative, engage with stakeholders, and present the company's values and vision through the voices of its leaders. Leadership plays a pivotal role in shaping and navigating office politics. Effective communication channels and the vigilance of managers in recognizing political behavior are essential for fostering trust and a positive culture. Leaders must also be role models, setting clear expectations and being fair and consistent in decision-making. By doing so, they can ensure that office politics align with organizational goals and standards. #Leadership #OfficePolitics #The_Chair

Last Thursday we hosted our exclusive summer virtual Executive Forum with our guest and team member @Laura Cooper on Politics at Work: Navigating Election Season. Several leaders joined us from diverse industries including tech, media, and retail. Some of the key takeaways were: -HR and leadership must proactively maintain a focused and calm company culture, especially during challenging political times or otherwise risk productivity that could cost up to $359 BILLION a year. -Open communication, clear company guidelines, and expectations regarding behaviors that are out of alignment with the company’s principles are key to preventing disruption and minimizing dysfunction. -Leaders can focus on proactively developing communication skills and strategies to manage political discussions. Training on conflict resolution, difficult conversations, and active listening are the top recommendations that some of these organizations are already implementing. The bottom line is that leaders need to be courageous in these uncertain times, or employees will fill in the gaps with their own interpretations. What strategies is your organization implementing to avoid polarization from disrupting your business? #ExecutiveForum #BraveLeadershipGroup #LeadershipDevelopment #Leadership #PoliticsAtWork #NavigatingElectionSeason
