My most vivid and most painful memory in 23 years in the US occurred on this day 23 years ago. We lost too many innocent families that day. And so many more since then - brave, selfless people who sacrificed their life so we wouldn't have another 9/11. We cannot be safe without military families. As we remember and mourn those who we have lost today, please consider expressing gratitude to military families who sacrifice every day to keep us safe. Here are some options... 1. Thank them for their service 2. Ask them how we can express our gratitude 3. Volunteer in organizations that support military families Help members of military families build fulfilling careers in the civillian sector... 4. Offer free training 5. Conduct mock interviews 6. Offer mentoring 7. Help with job hunting 8. Consider for internships / apprenticeships 9. Offer jobs 10. Brag about how awesome they are from the rooftops Never forget 9/11. Never forget who sacrifices every day since so we don't have another 9/11.
September 11 forever changed our nation. We honor the bravery of our first responders who saved many lives and our military veterans who fought to defend us. So many precious lives were lost - may we never forget. #neverforget

November is Military and Veteran Family Month Our military families make sacrifices, too! https://lnkd.in/gk-CG2X9 While the sacrifices made and hardships endured by our service members are well-documented, a related aspect that many people may not think about as often are the sacrifices made and hardships endured by military families as well. Maintaining a family in the civilian world is challenging enough, and military families may also face additional, unique challenges, such as frequent moves from base to base, having a loved one deployed for months on end, or dealing with long-term physical and/or emotional wounds, that can make the task of maintaining a family seem almost overwhelming. Veterans with mobility issues through being wounded, injured, illness or age, deserve to be able to travel with dignity, not be manhandked on and off aircraft like a sack of potatoes, risking injury, or death. They deserve to know their wheelchairs will not be damaged during a flight or during loading and unloading. United Airlines had the opportunity to have its replacement fleet accessible but chose not do. Janet do not wait for legislation that could force your airline to be accessible but show some humanity and humility to not only disabled veterans but all mobility disabled people, first by starting discussions with your aircraft manufacturers to make accessibility a priority. https://chng.it/XLVWt2Ls5y #unitedairlines #health #wellbeing #veterans #MemorialDay #AccessibleTravel #Wheelchairs #Disability #Transportation #aviation #AccessibleTourism #PVA #aircraft #accessibility #military #veteransaffairs
This Memorial Day, we remember those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. And to the many veterans, family members and friends of the military who have been impacted by loss and have reason to hold this day close to the heart, including our own United community members, we honor you.

Motivation Monday: Honoring Veterans and the Strength of Perseverance This Veteran’s Day, I’m reflecting on my journey as an Air Force veteran and honoring the courage, discipline, and resilience of all who have served. Military service teaches us powerful lessons about perseverance and commitment to our values—our families, our freedoms, and our futures. As veterans, we know that true strength is not just physical endurance; it’s about staying focused and resilient in the face of challenges. Today, I bring that same mindset to financial planning, helping clients secure their futures with clarity, purpose, and determination. Let’s honor our veterans by channeling their example—facing our financial and personal goals with the same commitment to building a future we’re proud of. To my fellow veterans: thank you for your service, your sacrifices, and the example you continue to set for us all. 🇺🇲 #MotivationMonday #VeteransDay #AirForceVeteran #FinancialStrength #Perseverance #Gratitude #CoastalHorizonFinancialSolutions #WealthBuilding #Patriotism #Veterans

hopefully our paths will cross in the near future
Congratulations to Alistair Carns on his appointment as Minister for Veterans Affairs. As Alistair is no doubt aware from his 24 years in the military, the experience of serving in the Armed Forces can leave some veterans, and their families, with very specific and unique needs. We look forward to working with Alistair to ensure that veterans with military trauma have access to the best possible treatment and support, and that he will make sure this critical issue is championed at the heart of government.

#SAICproud of this post by my CEO on Military Family Appreciation Month. Check out the post below:
As the daughter of a career US Army General, #MilitaryFamilyAppreciationMonth holds profound meaning for me. Our family's journey taught me firsthand what it means to serve. Those lessons of sacrifice, resilience, and pride continue to shape who I am and how we approach #MilitaryFamily support at SAIC. We understand the pride, the sacrifices, and the resilience it takes to serve—because so many of us have lived it – either ourselves or through a loved-one. With #veterans comprising 30% of our workforce, military families aren't just part of our community—they're at the heart of who we are. To all military families: your strength, sacrifice, and unwavering support make America's defense possible.
