Just a few months back, August 2024, OYOs valuation stood at USD 2.4 billion. It now, some five months later, gets an investment of Rs.100 crores. In-between this period, the Promoter also buys shares with his 'own' money and guess what !! In this short period of five months, OYOs valuation now stands at USD 4.6 billion !!! Yes, read this number again. And in financial year 2024, the company reported its first ever profit of Rs.229 crores. I continue to believe that the hype being created in hospitality in terms of new signings, additional room inventory growth of some 90,000 rooms, valuation etc is a bubble waiting to burst.
