Friday the 13th Poll: Is your desktop scarier than Saw, Jason, and Freddie Krueger combined? 🧟♀️ 👻 I’d like to tell you it doesn’t matter. And it doesn’t ... but also, it sorta does. It's a sign that something isn’t working. The process, the labor plan, something. Small things like this are easy to ignore, but their impacts add up. More than anything though, they keep us from understanding the bigger root problems. Physical and digital clutter just don’t work in logistics. Our work is too time critical, too dependent on the details. ❌ Scattered post-it notes ❌ Messy desktops ❌ Overflowing inboxes These are all signs. They tell me there might also be incomplete or inaccurate data in the systems. Or SOP’s that aren’t updated (or even worse, aren’t used). We're wrapping up conference season and approaching peak. The holidays are right around the corner (and maybe even an East Coast port strike on Oct 1): The. Pressure. Is. On. So, take a moment to rededicate yourself to the processes ‘January You’ set in place. The ones you thought were going to change everything. Because ‘January You’ was right. You just need to commit to process when the going gets tough.
