During the presidential campaign, Trump touted his role in overturning Roe v. Wade by nominating three anti-abortion justices to the Supreme Court. But given the public backlash to the 2022 ruling and numerous stories of women who suffered life-threatening consequences, or death, he declined to outline what he would do on abortion in a second term. There are, however, many clues. Read more from Jodi Enda in this week’s newsletter: https://bit.ly/48Lq0ar

My question to legislators, judges and candidates is this. “How do we support a woman’s right to choose if her only options are abortion or raising a child in extreme poverty? Google the Declaration of Independence if you have forgotten that our forefathers were willing to sacrifice their fortunes and their lives for the rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Although this document was written in the gender politically incorrect language of the era, I should hope that justice today is not so blind that it cannot see that all women are also created equal and have the inalienable right to pursue the happiness that comes from having the means to provide for a family. How can one logically claim to be pro choice if they are not also pro universal healthcare, pro right to a dignified wage, and pro right to ample affordable housing. Being pro choice logically demands that a pregnant woman be given viable options. Religious freedom demands that right to life extends to the child in her womb.

Two years ago today, the Dobbs decision was leaked. No matter how hard he tries, Donald Trump can’t sidestep his role in abortion being banned for millions. In 2016 he pledged to remake the Supreme Court with nominees who would overturn Roe v. Wade. He is directly responsible.

In recent years, the U.S. Supreme Court seems to have shifted to the right. Most notably, the Dobbs decision overturned the decades-long precedent that abortion is a constitutionally protected right. How did this apparent ideological shift influence public opinion about the Supreme Court, and how will it change the politics and legitimacy of the Court going forward? We Dissent ✊✊🏻✊🏼✊🏼✊🏾✊🏿 The Supreme Court has become emboldened by Trump and if the recent history of Court decisions has proven anything, it's that the Justices cannot be trusted to ensure the security, rights, and well being of the U.S. population. We Dissent the choices of the selfish few over the wider whole of this country. We Dissent the attempts to make Project 2025 a reality. We Dissent the following recent Supreme Court Decisions: 1. Criminalizing Homelessness 2. Presidential Immunity 3. Gerrymandering 4. Insurrectionist Clemency 5. Abortion Medication Ban 6. Federal Regulations ( Judges make policies, pulls power from people) 7. Firearm laws loosened (Bump stocks legal again) 8. Protect Restrictions: Strips away the right to Dissent 9. Roe v Wade 10. Could it be that yesterday's special election for a seat in the Alabama legislature is a harbinger of a new reality which signals the beginning of the end for the MAGA Republicans? Personally, I think the answer is: Yes, it could! These two paragraphs appeared in the March 26, 2024 edition of the daily Letters from an American newsletter. ------------------ "Other news today suggests that Americans outside the MAGA bubble are turning against the poisonous politics that appeals to fear and hatred so its perpetrators can gain money or power." "Voters’ frustration with the extremists who have captured the Republican Party appeared to be behind the results in today’s special election for a seat in the Alabama legislature. There, voters in a swing district elected a Democrat, who ran on protecting abortion access, to replace a Republican. In 2022 that Democrat, Marilyn Lands, won about 45% of the vote. Today she won almost 65% of it."

The Supreme Court is set to revisit a case on whether far-right federal courts have the power to ban the abortion drug mifepristone. This drug, used in over half of US abortions, faces a challenge despite its safety and medical benefits. The Court's decision might emphasize the role of the FDA over judicial interference in drug approval. However, the case highlights the dysfunction in the federal judiciary, especially in courts with strong political biases. The arguments against mifepristone lack legal ground and rely on speculative scenarios, questioning the authority of judges over medical decisions. Despite the expected Court support for mifepristone, the broken process in the federal judiciary burdens both litigants and the Supreme Court itself, showcasing the dire need for a functional filtration of meritless cases. #MedicalAbortion #AbortionPill #Mifepristone #Misoprostol #SupremeCourt, #AbortionRights, #ReproductiveRights, #SCOTUS, #WomenRights, #LegalJustice, #WomensHealth, #RoevWade, ACLU, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland, #ProChoice

Why Are So Many Voters Election Deniers And Support Doing Away With Abortion, Safety Regulations, Affordable Health Care, Making America A Isolationist Country ? Keeping a democracy requires attention to detail to allow individual freedoms to occur and our economy to its its citizens to prosper. Unfortunately, Election Deniers do not comprehend that taking away individual freedoms and placing them in control of one person with immunity results in that person becoming a dictator. So why are so many Election Deniers supporters of Donald Trump ? They simply do not know they have been lied to and believe those lies that are in fact acts of treason against the democracy of the United States ,now not being prosecuted in combination with a corrupt Supreme Court of the United States that is working constantly to take away separation of church and state, rights of women, and the list goes on and on in combination with Donald Trump.
