What if a small amount made a big difference? That's the reality with Wounded Healers International, an organization committed to ending cultures of sexual violence against women and children in Kenya and around the world. And make no mistake, this includes attacking human trafficking for where there's trafficking there's sexual violence, and where there's sexual violence there's trafficking. I helped found and now Chair Wounded Healers International for three reasons. 1. Our Founder Nuna Gleason has an incredible survival story and she's a bad ass when it comes to making our vision a reality. 2. I want to be part of the solution and not just an observer. 3. Wounded Healers makes a huge impact with even small donations. I'm hoping you'll join me in being part of the solution in ending cultures of sexual violence by becoming a Wounded Healers International donor. Ideally, you'll become a monthly donor and join our Pendo Community. Or make a one-time donation with big impact. My goal is to raise $10,000 by the end of 2024. I've already raised $5,645 including my own donations of $3,000. Will you join me? https://lnkd.in/gTpHgNmf

We receive some lovely feedback from our clients, and a common theme has always been 'I wish I'd found you sooner'. So we're making it happen. We developed a new range of materials and merchandise to be shared at events and conferences. We're reaching out to other charities to improve the connections between support networks, as well as setting up our own events and webinars that others can attend. We want everyone to know that if you've been affected by sexual violence, help and support is available at every stage of your recovery. Follow, like and share our content to help us raise awareness or visit https://buff.ly/48yFPRr to learn more about what we do. #YoUSaidWeDid #AwarenessRaising

On June 29th I'll be running the pride & remembrance run 5K to help raise money for some really incredible organizations. I have a goal to finish the run :) and also to raise $1K for charity. The benefactors of funds raised include the Pride and Remembrance Foundation that provides financial support to benefit the 2sLGBTQ+ commmunity as well as 4 incredible organizations: AndThenIWasFree who exists to show folks they're not alone, and that everyone can be free. Their focus Mental health, addiction, and identity support and education for youth and Indigenous communities across Canada. Durham Alliance Outreach is dedicated to empowering individuals and fostering inclusive communities through education and support. They provide transformative workshops and lectures focusing on essential life skills like self-esteem, confidence, and communication, particularly catering to the 2SLGBTQI+ community in Durham. Rainbow Faith and Freedom is a multi-faith Movement to secure inclusion and affirmation for 2SLGBTQI+ people around the world by ending religious-based homophobia and transphobia. They believe a person’s religious beliefs are part of their intersectional identity. And so, if religious-based homophobia and transphobia is not directly confronted, the world will remain an unsafe space for 2SLGBTQI+ folks. A religious problem requires a religious response. Toronto People With AIDS Foundation (PWA) a nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging people living with HIV/AIDS in enhancing their health and well-being through practical and therapeutic support services and broader social change and inspiring them to live into their dreams and discoveries. Services provided by the PWA include housing support, financial assistance, healthcare and wellness programs, advocacy and education and community outreach.

Open your heart and abundance to those in need. Donate to organizations in your community that support women and girls. Do your part to support women and girls in your community by making a donation. Whether you want to find a specific organization that empowers young girls in STEM, or a local women’s health clinic, there is definitely a need, and you can definitely help fill it. Any amount you can give is meaningful, and if you can, setting up a recurring donation can make a huge impact, all while saving you time in the long run. While we highly recommend finding a small and local grassroots organization to support in your area, here are a few other organizations you can fund during Women’s History Month: Malala Fund Girls Inc. She Should Run National Network of Abortion Funds Girls Who Code National Women’s Law Center Black Mamas Matter Alliance National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center

🌈 Sweat with Pride 🌈 Please sponsor me for Sweat with Pride and help me raise funds for our Rainbow community which, now more than ever, needs our support. Why sponsor me? 🌈 Our Rainbow community is growing - did you know 29-36% of Gen Z identify as part of it? 🌈 Outcomes continue to be poor - over 40% of us will attempt suicide and depression, anxiety and mental health problems are disproportionately high 🌈 Think homophobia doesn’t exist now that we’ve had marriage equality and human rights acts in place? Unfortunately this isn’t the case. Everyone in the Rainbow community has experienced some form of discrimination during their life (me included) - ask them about their lived experience - it’s painful and important as allies to understand this and then actively find ways to be an effective, uplifting bystander (happy to be that person sharing if you want to chat - send me a message) On a personal note, focusing on my physical health and wellbeing last year has resulted in me being the fittest and most resilient I’ve been in a long time. There have been huge scale victories (almost 23kg and counting) and huge non scale victories (my heart health on my Fitbit has gone from poor to average to now sitting in good to very good for my age, and I can keep up with the kids without getting puffed). Every dollar counts, so even a small amount makes a difference. I was able to fundraise over $800 last year so this year I’ve set a goal of $1000. Every dollar goes to the Burnett Foundation, Rainbow Youth, InsideOut or Outline: amazing not for profits working for our community. Here’s the link to donate: https://lnkd.in/gNn8C6Hg

This powerful visual reveals the heartbreaking reality of sex trafficking in the U.S., according to the 2023 Federal Human Trafficking Report. The youngest victim was just 4 years old, and the median age is only 15. These are not just numbers—they represent lives torn apart by exploitation. Let’s work together to protect the vulnerable and bring justice to survivors. Last chance to show you care! Time is running out to support our urgent 2024 donation campaign. We want you to know that your support is appreciated. You may think that everyone, like you, understands the need to support Project Respect’s work with women and gender diverse people in the sex industry, and women and gender diverse people with experiences of sexual exploitation. Unfortunately, not everybody does. We rely on those supporters who understand that specialist organisations exist to make sure there are pathways to support for priority communities - such as women and gender diverse people in the sex industry, and women and gender diverse people who have experienced sexual exploitation - so they can reach out and seek support from an organisation that understands their needs. This year we have supported service users that are working through experiences of exploitation who have told us that these experiences are sometimes dismissed or minimised by people they have disclosed to. We have supported service users that need help navigating service systems that are becoming increasingly complex. And, we have supported service users that are struggling in the current cost of living crisis, who are finding difficulty in even starting to work towards their goals, as current survival must be prioritised. We want to be there for people that need us. You can help. Please help by supporting us this End of Financial Year with a tax deductible donation. • $40 provides a food voucher to someone in need during the cost of living crisis • $50 supports our Lived Experience Advisory Group, enabling a platform for lived experiences to be heard • $60 pays for one direct phone line to keep it open to calls, texts and messages for an entire month • $250 pays for language translation of our resource materials, to better reach people from migrant and multicultural backgrounds • $1,000 funds an entire Art & Wellbeing session for up to 12 participants, including facilitator, materials, food and transport for those who need it • $3,000 on average provides an episode of support to a service user, including safety planning for someone experiencing violence or mental health distress Please consider URGENTLY supporting us this End of Financial Year with a tax deductible donation. You can donate directly via Shout For Good here https://loom.ly/jc5bu7c #projectrespect #projectrespectaus #endoffinancialyeargiving #donations #support #taxdeductible
