Digital Insurance reports on a survey that asks, “How Annoying is Insurance to Consumers?” Believe it or not, 22% of respondents would agree to move back in with their parents to not have to worry about insurance ever again. It can’t be that bad, can it? https://lnkd.in/gxPCjt36 #FinOps #Insurance #InsurTech #Finance #FinancialOperations #Billing #Payments #Reconciliation #TechInnovation #MGA #Accounting #PremiumFinance #Automation #Workflow #WomeninLeadership #WomeninInsuranceLeadership #WomeninTech
I can see this as most people I talk to say they just pay for it and don't pay attention to the details. They get a policy and just let it renew because it is so much easier. Sadly, my wife was that way and when I brought her on my policy, it saved her a ton. She had no interest in even trying to shop around for coverage because it can be hard.
I remember reading a 45-page renters insurance policy for $10,000 of property coverage and the next day reviewing a 12-page key man life insurance policy for $1m of coverage. How does that make sense? Let's hope our AI overlords can help us wade through the morass.
I'm too old to get back on my parents insurance! But glad I did the next best thing and joined FF to make insurance ops easier for our customers!

3moUnless the insurance company agrees to be held financially responsible for anything and everything that the AI says to consumers, then the recommendation in the article that AI can be used to help is a huge NO. Most of us have insurance because it is a necessary evil, not because the insurance industry has demonstrated competence or earned trust. "Anything you say can and will be used against you" applies equally to police, HR, and insurance companies. It is a sad truth but a truth nonetheless.
