WHY ARE WIND/SOLAR PROJECT DEVELOPERS SO HARD TO FIND? In the last 3 years working in this space, I’ve seen firsthand just how much things have shifted. Back in 2021, roles were being filled almost instantly. There was so much momentum in the market - money coming in, projects getting funded - and hiring through recruiters meant you’d have the perfect candidate in no time, sometimes in just a few weeks. But things are different now. I’ve been speaking with leaders across the industry, and it’s clear that finding experienced developers through their own network has become a real challenge. Positions are staying open for months, and teams are feeling the strain of trying to get things done without the support they need. Interestingly, companies used to be able to look to competitors for a quick solution, but now that’s not working as well anymore. The competition for talent is fierce, and if companies aren’t open to hiring people with more diverse backgrounds, these roles are almost impossible to fill without external help. I’m fortunate to spend a lot of time engaging with contacts, clients (and friends) in the sector and always love sharing trends and insights. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to explore a fresh, specialist approach to finding talent! "I wouldn't want to waste your time with a call..." Something I hear most days. However... It's better to know me and not need me, than need me and not know me! I can't stress how important this is! The beauty of working in the Recruitment to Recruitment space is that I do exactly what you do. My entire network consists of Energy and Engineering Recruiters across London - I can share a unique view on the market and give insight on what is happening out there. Speaking to those that operate in the same way and share many of the same issues, challenges and successes, I take learnings myself from every conversation and would always encourage conversation with any high performer in the space. #hiring #networking #insights #energy #renewables #recruitment
