𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀? A few years back, I attended a leadership intensive with participants from Africa, Asia, and the U.S. I noticed how challenging it was for all of us to invest time reflecting as we were encouraged to consider what has contributed to and continues to shape how we make decisions, set goals, and mobilize others. If we don’t take the time to stop and reflect, we often overlook the significance of key connections and their significant contribution to our ongoing success. The deliberate practice of reflection helps ensure your priorities align with who you are and what you want to achieve. It is not navel gazing, and it’s not self-indulgent. In fact, it’s others focussed. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀. We can’t expect to evolve or improve as leaders if we don't take the time to evaluate all aspects of our leadership style. We need to be both teachable and unoffendable. A Leader's Walk As the sun slowly arose over the horizon, casting long nuanced shades of blue along the beach, I found myself reflecting on the journey of a leader. This morning's beach stroll, on the last day of a transformative conference, mirrored the intricate path of leadership. With each step, I felt the cool, yielding sand beneath my feet. It was a gentle reminder that while the path may seem effortless, the underlying terrain demands constant adaptation. The uneven surface forced me to engage muscles I rarely use, a strong contrast to the familiar rhythm of the portion of the beach graded by the public works teams.  Walking on this smooth path was easier in some sense, less rebalancing with each step. But it was not necessarily easier. Similarly, the journey of leadership requires a delicate balance of stability and agility. While it's tempting to follow the path of a role model step by step, the growth experiences often lie off the beaten track. Charting your own path demands resilience, creativity, and a willingness to embrace uncertainty. Today, as I conclude this enriching conference, I'm filled with a renewed sense of purpose along with an abundance of ideas. I've invested in myself, expanding my knowledge and rekindling my passion. The insights gained here will undoubtedly shape my own leadership journey, empowering me to navigate the inevitable challenges and seize the boundless opportunities that lie ahead. #leadership #management #inspiration
