Project success rates are not great. The employee experience is not great. What makes innovation difficult is not software, so this should be no surprise. What makes innovation difficult are people – how we interact, collaborate, and compete with each other. Therefore, a people-centric methodology is not revolutionary. It’s just overdue. Your code will be just fine. This session shares five topics (starting with “M”) that shape a people-centric methodology, the how and the why such a methodology is attractive. The metaphors that best describe healthy collaboration The mechanics that govern the most valuable innovation The money profile of low marginal cost The job market’s benefits Mental health benefits Takeaways How and why to adopt a people-centric methodology Enthusiasm and confidence to adopt a new methodology Sanity, safety, and self-respect whether you’re pursue this or not AITP or WiCyS Member: $15 Non-Member: $20 Bio: Robert Snyder Robert Snyder is the founder and president of Innovation Elegance, LLC. “Fail fast” is a popular mantra in digital innovation, but failure rarely offers useful business lessons. Instead, focus on structured learning from experiments to drive real progress. Understanding what didn’t work is as crucial as understanding what did. Businesses need to pivot from the blanket acceptance of failure to a more nuanced approach that maximises learning and minimises wasted efforts. #Innovation #Leadership #BusinessStrategy #Learning #GrowthMindset

Proof that we are always ahead of the curve! Staying ahead as a technology leader requires continuous innovation but for us it also means an alignment with core values. By prioritizing customer needs, fostering an agile and adaptable culture, upholding ethical standards, and investing in continuous learning, we can drive forward-thinking solutions. Practically, this means listening to our customers, embracing change, maintaining integrity, and always seeking new knowledge to improve our offerings. And remember, while we provide the technology, we're not responsible for how creatively our customers use it!

One important thing to call out to a lot of organizations is that digital transformation should not be technology led. It should be led by customer value, both for external and internal customers and what's important for them. You should never lead with technology driving things and new technology trends. It's like the tail wagging the dog by moving away from focusing on customer value and instead focusing on technology potential, the results are never great. Massive amounts of investment in expensive technology occurs, which ends up being thrown away in a few years because it really hasn't solved what absolutely needs to be solved. What needs to be solved is delivering exponential value to customers. That ensures an organization can remain viable and sustainable. When I first started out in technology as a young graduate, I was very enthusiastic about implementing the most modern, trendy, advanced and complicated technology to show off the great work. But over time and even up until now, I realized that there are equally important things that matter here like process, like customer centricity and getting into things like customer journeys and their jobs to be done along with culture, agile, and ways of working. It's important to work back from real customer problems first, and then find solutions which could range from process, customer employee experience, product development right through to technology. So what I'm saying is, you shouldn't believe that the silver bullet to digital transformation is technology.

Christensen told us there are three types of innovation: - empowering innovations disrupt the market, create jobs and protect your business long term - sustaining innovations build on top of a company’s existing business model, can make you good money but don't protect you from long term disruption - efficiency innovations improve the operational aspects of your existing business model Agility can play a role in all types of innovation, but especially with respect to efficiency innovations, often businesses are unable to answer the question "okay, we've freed up capital thanks to the efficiency innovations implemented ...now what?" What do we do with the money? In theory, it should be used to create further growth and explore new stuff (products, services, etc.). In practice, we often fail to unlock these possibilities because we lack the business agility required to experiment fast, "place bets" and see which ones convert to long term value. To do that, you need the ability to continuously evolve and adapt at a business level. If we confine agile principles and practices to one department and focus all our attention on predictability in delivery, we miss the 'why of agile'. #businessagility #innovation

🌌 CIRCULAR ECONOMY EXCELLENCE 🌌 [AGILE] [TRUST] [SUSTAINABILITY] [ETHICS] [GROWTH] [TRANSFORMATION] 📈 This statistic in the graph shows what skills people think will be needed as we march ahead. I mainly agree however I believe there is value in everyone. Building the global workforce of tomorrow starts today. With the rapid growth in technology and the need for skilled workers, organizations need to be agile when it comes to what the future holds for us. What technology can't do today is acknowledge the essence of their character. 💻 An AI might show their skills as highly valued but do they hold the right soft skills that lead to a better performance. Take the leap and have faith because your organization can foster that environment. They have a voice and are able to be aligned with your values and mission and have that passion. Enjoy the process of getting to know each other. True success lies in fostering genuine connections and understanding amongst team members. ❓ You may ask the same question of the business. Does this organizational culture meet your metrics of being trustworthy, sustainable, and have the right leadership? Are they growing in a direction that aligns with your goals? Are they capable of ensuring that you are met with the right tools and people that make you feel safe and enjoy doing your job. 🌎 The world is a diverse place filled with humans from many different backgrounds, cultures, education, experiences, and abilities. We want the employer and employees to grow alongside each other if we are to succeed. That includes involving our communities, partners, stakeholders, governments, laws, innovations, technology and the competition. 👨🎓 We are given the knowledge and tools and how to apply them but are we continuously learning how to learn and adapt? As time keeps moving forward so shall we. Ensure we are not complacent and we remain agile in this evolving landscape. Life is a journey and you can look at the past and learn from it but you cannot change it. You can look towards the future but you can't determine exactly what is ahead. You could be the captain of the ship but if no one tells you there is a leak, how will you proceed? Together with more transparency, we can mend the ruptures and sail towards success. Ultimately, our journey is intertwined, transcending boundaries and disparities. Let's uplift one another, forging a world characterized by equity, opportunity, and love. Together, we can realize the vision of a brighter, more sustainable future. #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #FutureOfWork #Collaboration #Humanity #Love
