I had the fantastic opportunity to attend a confidence-boosting and goal-setting masterclass hosted by Kamal Ellis-Hyman and powered by Aim A Little Higher in partnership with HSBC. This event was truly helpful, and I’m incredibly grateful to Kamal and the team for organising it! 🙏 Key Takeaways: Vision & Goal Clarity: We explored how to create a vision rooted in personal aspirations—not just aiming for a job title. The Activities helped us focus on what truly drives us, aligning goals with our values. Building a Personal Brand: We learned to think beyond logos and create a personal brand that authentically connects with others, reflecting our unique goals and values. Confidence is Key: Confidence-building was central to this workshop. From public speaking to group discussions, the activities helped us communicate boldly and stand out. Overcoming Imposter Syndrome: One highlight was addressing imposter syndrome. Kamal shared practical tips for overcoming self-doubt, helping us recognise our worth and take ownership of our space. 🌟 Why it Mattered: This event was tailored for students from underprivileged backgrounds and Aim A Little Highers' commitment to empowering underserved communities was clear throughout the session. It felt like the perfect balance of personal growth and a community impact. A massive thank you to Kamal Ellis-Hyman, Aim A Little Higher, HSBC and Zero Gravity for making this possible. These workshops truly make a difference! 🙌 #PersonalDevelopment #AimALittleHigher #ConfidenceBuilding #ImposterSyndrome #GoalSetting #HSBC #Gratitude #ZeroGravity #SocialMobility

"Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success." -Henry Ford 🔗🔗🔗🔗🔗🔗🔗🔗🔗 Thinking of this quote it strikes me that in our current world of instant satisfaction, we sometimes forget that some things TAKE TIME. Not everything is a ‘now’, ‘in the moment’, ‘overnight’ possibility. Building trust in what your organisation is looking to do in a challenging, fast paced Business environment, getting your employees to buy-into the direction you want to take your business in, TAKES INVESTED TIME. The bigger your organisation, the more challenging to keep everyone ‘onboard’, ‘on the bus’, and all the other ways to describe how you want your workforce to come with you on the journey, TAKES VALUABLE TIME. But that doesn’t mean you can’t go at PACE. I heard someone say ‘pace is an output, not an input’ and I love that. If you get your foundations right, the rest will start to come anyway because people will willingly do all the things you need and quicker than you thought possible. THIS MEANS USING TIME WISELY. At Lloyds Banking Group we have many ways to help our colleagues make the most of their time, from interactive targeted learning #TimeToGrow events hosted by Kelly Mulrooney & her team (check out her LinkedIn posts!), to over 6000 #Catalysts looking to share the wonderful stories of success our hardworking teams achieve everyday, building a sense of community that can also be leveraged in times of challenge. And CONSISTENCY is a key ingredient when deciding on how to use your precious time. Keep showing up, keep supporting each other, keep challenging the norm, keep learning, keep moving forward and IN NO TIME AT ALL, things will start to change…

Here are a few reasons why your participation in the dragon boat race with your HSBC colleagues was a positive experience: * **Teamwork and camaraderie:** You built relationships and a sense of community by working together towards a common goal. * **Celebrating diversity:** The event brought together people from different backgrounds, reflecting the values of HSBC. * **Promoting health and well-being:** Training and participating in the race likely involved physical activity and exercise. * **Connecting with tradition:** You participated in a cultural event that's important to Hong Kong. * **Personal accomplishment:** You and your colleagues put in the effort to train and compete, achieving a sense of satisfaction. * **Company spirit:** The event fostered a sense of pride and belonging within HSBC. The last line, "Together we paddle; together we succeed!" emphasizes the importance of teamwork and collaboration in achieving success, both in the dragon boat race and within HSBC. #HSBC
HSBC colleagues have, for years, proudly raced in Hong Kong's dragon boat events. Today, I joined over 150 colleagues at Stanley Main Beach, forming 8 energetic teams. The adrenaline, vibrant colors, drum beats, and cheering fans made for an electrifying day. Our teams have trained hard - their competitive spirit, teamwork, and determination truly reflect the values we cherish at HSBC. I also love that this festival is a deeply rooted Chinese tradition but the diversity of paddlers speaks volumes. Huge Congrats to our teams for their passion and hard work. G R O W 🌱 As professionals, our ability to adapt, learn and grow directly impacts our success and relevance in today's ever-evolving workplace. At Lloyds Banking Group investing in ourselves is not just a choice; it's a necessity 💪 Here are five essential tips to help you on your journey of continuous learning and personal growth: 1️⃣ Embrace Continuous Learning: The world is changing rapidly, and so are the skills required to excel in our roles. Make a commitment to lifelong learning by staying updated on industry trends, taking courses, attending workshops and seeking out new challenges. 2️⃣ Seek Feedback and Act on It: Constructive feedback is a powerful tool for personal development. Be open to receiving feedback from colleagues, mentors and supervisors, and use it as a roadmap for improvement. 3️⃣ Network and Build Relationships: Building a strong professional network is crucial for career growth. Connect with peers, industry leaders, and mentors to exchange ideas, gain insights and open doors to new opportunities (can’t shout about the importance of a network enough!) 4️⃣ Set Clear Goals: Define your short-term and long-term goals to give your learning and growth a sense of direction. Break down your goals into actionable steps and track your progress regularly to stay motivated and focused. 5️⃣ Step Out of Your Comfort Zone: Growth happens outside of our comfort zones. Challenge yourself to take on new projects, learn new skills, or volunteer for leadership opportunities that push you to expand your capabilities and reach your full potential. By investing in ourselves and prioritising our personal growth, we not only enhance our skills and knowledge but also demonstrate our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. Remember, the journey of self-improvement is ongoing, and the rewards are limitless. Let's embrace the power of learning and growth to stay relevant, resilient, and successful in our careers. 💡. Georges Elhedery.....From my perspective, HSBC has a unique opportunity to lead financial transformation in Latin America with a comprehensive, localized strategy. By adopting advanced technologies like AI and blockchain, HSBC can provide personalized and secure services. Enhancing remittance processing is crucial for families dependent on these funds. Additionally, ensuring linguistic and technological inclusion in remote areas is essential for reaching the entire population. Supporting SMEs and microfinance will drive economic growth, while promoting sustainable products and financial education will advance the region’s socioeconomic development. Collaborating with local fintechs can foster innovation and create tailored financial solutions. Through these initiatives, HSBC can not only strengthen its competitive position but also play a pivotal role in advancing financial inclusion across Latin America. Georges Elhedery will be the next Group Chief Executive of HSBC. Today we’ve announced that Georges will take up his role on 2 September to lead HSBC through its next phase of development and growth. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eH-P-bZs #HSBC

And now looking ahead, here's a very special event, part of an ongoing GLOBAL TRADE series, "live" in London 23 April, being presented in-person inside hq of the global trade bank HSBC, Canary Wharf financial center ... here's the agenda layout https://lnkd.in/gxZiNxYT. Note: This event will NOT be televised "live". BackStory: About 3 years ago I was quietly invited to be involved in developing/creating and producing and being Moderator of a unique vehicle for communicating business strategy/tactics for a business audience connected with "global trade", essentially "global talent development". And so it began; my mission was to think big, utilize my contacts connections and combine with those of the England-based Andrew Elliman, European Head of Business Development- AGS Worldwide. A blessing! I was introduced to Kulvinder, an executive inside HSBC having a unique portfolio. So it began; we became "3 amigos". Ideas flowed, some "stuck" while others vaporized but I never ever thought about "being Don Quixote". May 9'23 was an in-person workshop presented inside HSBC hq Canary Wharf followed by PubCrawl. Yes, it all worked! I was invited to do it again; a date was set for Dec 7'23, same venue, but a different iteration. It happened... and in the words of a cosponsor, she called it "just wonderful"! Edition #3 will happen April 23 inside HSBC hq. Yes, it will be "cutting-edge", indeed going beyond. Register, be with us in London. But note, seating is being restricted to ensure a very highly-interactive workshop atmosphere. Become a cosponsor and "show" your logo/message to a global business audience. Contact me quickly to discuss things and thank you for considering ... regards and sincerely, Ed publisher@globalbusiness.media #globalHRbusiness, #globalbusinessnews, #globalrelocationnews, #globalHRnews, #globaltvtalkshow, #globalbusinessIQ, #mediaprep, #globalpressclub, #mediatraining, #publicspeaking, #CHRO, #HRBP #relocationguide
