Even as climate has taken front stage and centre, and some would claim nature has arisen in recent years to take the spotlight. remember that water has been a key and integral part of those issues. Let's hope it's not a blind spot for the world! Support Patricia Calderon and my water colleagues in this journey ushering corporates, investors and Governments towards responsible water use and management through #disclosure and #data. As I say sometimes... #Singapore has seen itself through one environmental revolution. It started with the very symbolic clean up of the Singapore River. It continued with a great success with the closing of the water loop through NEWater. And with the ABC Waters projects ushering a new age of embracing the meaning of water. And everyone has a part to play as we get battered by more intense and frequent storms, not to mention sea level rise, even as we look ahead. Even as DPM Lawrence takes over the reins from PM Lee. We remember the legacy left in the hands of Singapore water professionals, that water continues to be front and centre in Singapore. And as Founding PM LKY said "Every other policy has to bend at the knees for our water survival". And survive we did. For other folks wanting a more light-hearted quote. Bruce Lee (another #Lee) once said "Be formless, shapeless, like water. You put water into the cup, it becomes the cup. You put water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. You put water in a teapot. it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend". Learn from these water stories, and not forget the Way of Water. #Water #SWA #YWP #CDP
The bar needs to be raised much higher if we want to build strong and effective supply chains, free from serious water risks. Companies should shift their outlook to recognizing the significant opportunities from becoming more water resilient. New research looks at how the private sector needs to drive water action across the world's supply chains. The report presents CDP's most extensive ever analysis on how companies are responding to water security, based on record-high disclosure numbers. Read more: https://ow.ly/6FWL50R20C5

🚰 Celebrating the Symbolic Start of the Next AWIA Compliance Cycle 🚰 This is not an April Fool’s prank, but a fact. As of today, we mark the symbolic beginning of the next cycle of compliance under the America's Water Infrastructure Act (AWIA) of 2018. This pivotal moment signals a renewed commitment across the nation to ensuring the resilience and safety of our drinking water systems. 📆 The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has set forth the compliance dates based on the size of the water system's population, as of March 31, 2024. The AWIA compliance requirements mandate that all community water systems serving more than 3,300 people must develop or update risk and resilience assessments and emergency response plans, including potential threats to both the physical infrastructure and the cyber systems. Following are the compliance deadlines for Community Water Systems by population size: 100,000 RRA Deadline: March 31, 2025 ERP Deadline: September 30, 2025 50,000—99,999 RRA Deadline: December 31, 2025 ERP Deadline - June 30, 2026 3,301—49,999 RRA Deadline: June 30, 2026 ERP Deadline: December 30, 2026 As we step into this new cycle, let's unite in our effort to fortify our water infrastructure, protect public health, and secure a sustainable future. The journey towards full compliance is both a responsibility and an opportunity to demonstrate our collective resilience and commitment to excellence. 💧 Together, we are building a more resilient water future. 💧 #AWIACompliance #WaterResilience #PublicHealth #SustainableFuture #EPA
