📢 A transition to #agroecology and regenerative food systems would help us meet our climate, biodiversity and food security targets. Transitioning to agroecology requires USD 430 billion annually. But right now it only gets USD 44 billion. In contrast, nearly USD 630 billion goes annually towards agriculture subsidies, half of which are harmful. This doesn't add up. We need to transform our #FoodSystems. Learn more: https://bit.ly/3X5eUsY

You're absolutely right! It's a glaring mismatch. We're heavily subsidizing unsustainable agricultural practices that harm the environment and contribute to climate change, while severely underfunding agroecology, which offers a pathway to a more sustainable and equitable food system. This misallocation of resources is a major barrier to achieving our global goals. We need to: Redirect subsidies: Shift subsidies away from harmful practices like industrial agriculture and towards agroecological approaches. Invest in agroecology: Increase public and private investment in agroecological research, development, and implementation. Empower farmers: Support farmer-led innovation and knowledge sharing to accelerate the transition to agroecology.
