I’m back online after an extended break—renovating my mind, my home, and preparing for my most exciting new role: becoming a Dad. Over the past few months, I’ve had the privilege of speaking with creative teams (in-house and external), established businesses, and tech start-ups navigating big shifts in how we work and create value. And while the tools and technologies are evolving fast, one truth remains constant: Creativity in all its forms is still the most powerful lever for growth in any business. The past year has been one of upheaval for many in our industry—marked by change and uncertainty. Yet it often feels like the more things change, the more they stay the same; Creativity that fuels growth remains at the heart of everything we do. AI and tech are incredible tools, but the real breakthroughs come when these tools are placed in the right hands. A focus for me this year is on helping teams unlock their creative potential by partnering with smart systems and operational clarity, so they can thrive in this evolving landscape. It’s about striking the right balance between human creativity and the processes and tools that can amplify it. I’m excited to reconnect with friends, colleagues, and new collaborators, and I’ll be sharing more thoughts and insights on this journey. If you’d like to explore how we can tackle today’s challenges and opportunities together, reach out—I’d love to hear from you. Looking forward to the conversations ahead.

Moving from self-employment to being an employee is hard! And I now know it's not for me ... and that's ok 🙏 My goal for returning to employment was to have a greater impact on advice and learn from smart people. I've definitely met some amazing people and learnt a lot. But I've felt my impact stifled. By the role, the product, the corporate constraints, I just haven't have the impact on advice that I'm motivated to have. So I'm back 💫 Back to helping transform advice in 3 ways: 1️⃣ Consulting to advice businesses directly on people, process and technology. Anything that improves outcomes and efficiency in delivering advice. 2️⃣ Consulting to product and service providers on strategy; go to market, sales and product. 3️⃣ And a little passion project of mine that will come to life soon! This has the potential to be a game changer for advice professionals and I can't wait to share with you 💡 If you have an overwhelming to do list, a desire for improvement or need help getting traction in the advice market, please reach out. I have a couple of projects under way but scope to help this side of Christmas. I'm excited to get started 🚀

Today marks my last day at Material. Reflecting on the past two and a half years, I’m filled with deep gratitude for the incredible learning and growth I’ve experienced. Here are three lessons I'll carry forward: - The pursuit of consumer insights is still evolving. Companies have invested heavily in data, infrastructure, and analytics — building strong foundations. But this often leads to a singular focus on personalization. Personalization improves relevance but captures only transactional behaviors, missing the motivations and context that drive consumers. True transformation comes from moving beyond data points to a holistic understanding of people — their aspirations, frustrations, and values. This deeper insight allows companies to connect meaningfully, not just personalize efficiently. - Data grounds us in reality, providing the "what" of consumer behavior. But true understanding emerges when data is paired with intuition and empathy to uncover the "why" behind the numbers. This balance is key to generating insights that resonate deeply and drive transformative impact. - Good people striving for great things. Few things bring me more professional satisfaction than collaborating with those who care deeply and aim high. I’m deeply grateful to my colleagues at Material for making my time there so rewarding — for the insights we’ve shared, the challenges we’ve tackled, and the humanity and camaraderie that made it all meaningful. I’m taking a short break to reflect and recharge — and I’m excited to embrace my next adventure - whatever it may be.
