Older commercial buildings should fit into a special class of retrofit. They have all the quirks of the historic craft of multi-wythe brick construction that it shares with the historic residential buildings, except, with a twist. Now you have to bring them up to code for today. Residential part 9 buildings have a looser set of requirements, not so with commercial, and that’s the tricky part.
