It is really impressive, considering how expensive a typical land use survey is they used, google street view images plus other roadside images etc. to develop machine learning models for the development of crop type maps 🌾the accuracy was about 93% according to them. this was done mainly for thailand. And they are trying to pratice this in india too , they have emphasized that india's farmlands are small and crop labels are less as in most developed countries, therefore i think this have a huge potential in mapping sri lankan crop lands which could have so much beneficial implications on land use management and agriculture policy development 🌱 and considering the lesser availability of grants and funds for land use survey in the country this would be a viable solution.
