We are passionate about giving back to the communities where we are based. During the month of November, colleagues from across the UK took the time to support organisations that are doing brilliant work and helping to improve local areas and causes. Some of our November highlights include: -Our Learning and Development and Inclusion and Diversity teams volunteered at Spitalfields City Farm. Colleagues spent the morning helping out by cleaning shelters and clearing a pond space. The team then had the opportunity to feed the animals, learning more about the work that the farm undertakes and their challenges. -In Llantrisant, our team spent the day lending help to Woody’s Lodge, which is an organisation that provides a meeting space for veterans of the Armed Forces, Emergency Services and Reservists to re-engage with life, their families and their communities. The team helped by tidying and carrying out a stock check of donated items as well as spring cleaning one of their rooms and putting up Christmas decorations. -Colleagues from our Wakefield office volunteered with the Wakefield Hospice by sorting through and putting tags on a large number of donations. The team spent hours organising clothes and furniture so that they could be sent to the organisation’s charity shops. -In London, our team spent the day volunteering with the Oasis Academy which is an organisation that works within some of the most vulnerable local areas by helping to improve communities. Colleagues helped set up for a breakfast club and community fridge by unloading deliveries and organising food. We are incredibly proud of our teams for dedicating their time and efforts to give back to their communities. Well done to all our colleagues who took part this month! #GallagherGivesBack #LifeatGallagher

🌟Caring touches everyone. Whether it's supporting a friend, neighbour, or family member who falls ill, welcoming a child with special needs, or assisting an ageing parent, at some point, we all provide care to those we love. A recent YouGov poll commissioned by Carers Week charities found that one in five of us is presently providing unpaid care to someone. It also found that 30% of those not currently providing care had done so in the past. This means that half of us have been carers at some stage in our lives. But that proportion may be even higher. The poll also revealed that 73% of people providing or who have provided care do not identify themselves as carers. This suggests that there may be significantly more unpaid carers in our society than the poll's findings show. It also indicates that a large number of people providing unpaid care may not be accessing information, advice, and support to help them in their caring role. Based on these findings, Carers Week estimates that 19 million people in the UK have provided unpaid care or support but have not identified themselves as carers. Let's work together to change that! Join us, alongside carer support organizations across the country, this Carers Week as we strive to build a supportive community that recognizes and advocates for carers' needs. 💪❤️

Yesterday, a subset of our Liberty IT Consulting team returned to Simon Community housing in Lisburn. We were invested - we had given the rear garden open space a good overhaul last year, and wanted to both see how it had improved, and see what else we can do to improve it. The morning started the same as last year - our co-ordinator gave us a talk about the vital services Simon provided. The statistics around homelessness in Northern Ireland are truly shocking: - 55000 people officially homeless; 1 person in 34! This number is higher, as there is hidden homelessness in the form of couch-surfing. - 80000 people waiting for social housing across Northern Ireland - Homeless has doubled since 2013 - Demographically, there is a significantly higher proportion of males who are homeless, they make up 2/3 of the number. - Female homelessness is on the rise, up to 33% However, there is good news too; - 433 tenancy agreements to date - that is 433 individuals/families who are moved into a more sustainable rental accommodation - 18 "Creating Homes" created - effectively building a turnkey home for individuals. Simon provides a lifeline for individuals and families who have been negatively impacted by the cost of living, the lack of affordable housing, and many other adverse life factors. We were privileged to witness this in action; while we were there, one of the residents was given a tenancy agreement, bringing the number up to 434, and a really emotional moment for all of us, as he told us his circumstances that lead to homelessness (escaping a domestic abuse situation), and that he had found love, and was now a home to build a new foundation. This was so inspiring. From the workfront, we were delighted to see that the garden was looking good, and had minimal improvements to make - we got to work weeding, replanting, cutting out some dead branches, hedging and painting. It was a solid days work, and as HAYLEY RUFFOLD said, it's the best form of Team Building!! Hope to go back again next year and continue to improve! Serve with Liberty is a fantastic initiative, and one of the best days of the year!
Today I was privileged to take a day away from the desk and get involved in Serve with Liberty. We had the opportunity to spend time together as a team, helping the Lisburn Simon Community, an amazing charity which provides support and accommodation to people who are at risk of homelessness in Northern Ireland. We painted, weeded, planted and tidied up an outside area. Thank you for the opportunity to get involved! Liberty IT

It's important to stay connected when you've made a big move. 1. Schedule video calls, phone chats, and email exchanges with friends and family. 2. Join clubs, groups, or classes. 3. Attend events, volunteer, or join a neighborhood association. Weaving yourself into the community can help you feel included and build meaningful connections. Remember, connection isn't bound by geography – nurture existing relationships and embrace the opportunities for new ones.⠀ ⠀ Charity Slawter REALTOR® (360)2688420📱 License#136037 #charityslawter #Realtor #RealEstate #RealEstateAgent #charityslawterrealestate #charityslawterrealtor #charityslawterrealestateagent #exprealty #exprealtyproperties #livewell #thelivewellgroup #livewellhomegroup #livewellhomegroupwa #livewellwa #livewellhomes #warealtor #warealestate #warealty #olympia #lacey #lakewood #sheraton

With such a responsibility to serve people who are homeless this winter [to keep them warm, clean and respected to feel like a human being in our society], Hand on Heart needs to perform operation’s with precise planning and logistics. Over 24,000 items are delivered, sorted and packed into 2000 quality rucksacks. Each item provides a guest with warmth and cleanliness through new cloths, blankets and toiletries. In addition, planning and logistics is essential to the distribution of these packs to 30 cities and town across the UK over 30 days in November. All this could not be done without a team and dedicated set of volunteers filled with commitment and determination to help others. There are challenges throughout the process none more than raising funds to support such a worthy cause to help people who are homeless. £25 will go towards a rucksack filled with hoodies, thermals, woolly hats, gloves, warm socks, underwear, hot water bottles plus hygiene items such as deodorants, shower gel, wipes, toothbrush, toothpaste and every guest will receive bottled water too. So please put your hand on your heart and make a gesture of gratitude towards someone who needs our support this winter. Together with our partners Beta Charitable Trust , this is our moment to serve humanity and make it a November to Remember. https://lnkd.in/e9fM4HMA The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales Big Issue John Bird Mayor of London Mayor of London Sadiq Khan NishkamSWAT (Charity No 1139600) Who is Hussain #operations #locgistics #plannings #dedication #commitment #homeless #warmth #cleaniness #princeofwales #determination #makeadifference #donation #volunteer #support #distribution #winter #humanity #november #gratitude #team #teamwork #leadership #challenges

Whilst the TV news is hard to take in at the moment, here’s a story (true!) about the power of kindness. Homelessness really hurts. When you find yourself on the streets, it’s just so hard to get out. You can’t find a stable job because you can’t get a safe home. You can’t find a safe home because you haven’t got a stable job to pay for it. So here’s a photo of Billy celebrating. Celebrating because last Saturday he won the UK & Ireland World Pool Jockeys’ Championship. He donated the £50,000 prize money to The Christy Lambe Foundation! How kind is that! But that’s not the end of the story. The Christy Lambe Foundation are choosing to pass the donation to Standing Tall so we can start to work in #Derby to help at least 15 people in 2025 to move off the streets for good. Then 15 more people in 2026. 15 more people every year. 4 out of 5 people we help are still off the streets and in the same job one year later. I always wanted to create a way to help people to move away from the streets that involves our whole community. Responsible businesses with stable full-time entry-level jobs looking to diversify their workforces. Kind people with spare rooms wanting to do the right thing. And there’s people like Billy and the team at The Christy Lambe Foundation. That’s the power of kindness. #Homelessness #Derby #SocialImpact #Kindness #Charity #SocialEnterprise #ResponsibleBusiness #InclusiveRecruitment #ESG #CSR #EastMidlands

The Order was founded on these principles: The desire to create a better world. To project positivity and harmony into the world. To restore balance where there is conflict. To establish purpose where there is none. By expanding light to vanquish darkness. To encourage triumph over adversity. Throughout all our endeavours we work to improve the world we live in. To emulate the example of our charities, such as the RNLI, which we are promoting as an outstanding illustration of what can be achieved with the right concept and application. To that end we all need saving in one form or another at one time or another. NOKS seeks to do just that. The example of our Grand Prior, Nicholas Cobb, is before us as he risks his life trying to save the lives of others with the RNLI Lifeboats. It's a tough, hard volunteer job as anyone who has seen the UK TV programmes on this can see. NOKS is a form of rescue boat in that we collectively encourage others to do good work, whilst trying ourselves to make a difference however small. It is important that all of you understand this as you go out to represent us wherever possible. Please support the RNLI in what it does. You can apply yourself to reinforce its mission or another charity that fulfils your desire to help others. By engaging locally you will make a big difference as your example will encourage people to do more as Nicholas Cobb has done. NOKS is making a difference. So can you as part of us. What can you help with Helene? Being a NC resident that we all knew about how western NC has major impacted by Helene. If you are NCDOT DBE or SBE firm or their sub-group, you can sign up NCDOT database for ready clean up. The detail can be found on NCDOT official website. You can also search central or other division letting for more details. If you are retired individuals, some of you may be already part of Queen city packing meals for western NC community. You can also join local non-profit volunteering group. Most religious organizations may have planned to set up clean up crew of volunteering. You can sign up or ask for volunteering for this mission. FEMA also put out housing property requirement. If you are real estate professionals, this is something you can help other residents impacted by Helene via FEMA needed services. Even Helene has left us and hope bring our NC residents closer as our state got hit hard and we will rebuild just like others. Most older people from NC will remember when Hugo hit. That was part of my Godparents' story. Taiwan has 921 and Japan has its own and we all rebuild and someday Western NC will rebuild once more. #Helene

It Takes TWO
We recently carried out a deep clean on the floors at CISCA House, which is a drop-in day centre on Canvey Island that provides a safe and supportive space for people aged over 55. We have been servicing CISCA House for a number of years and take great pride in delivering support to such an important facility for the local community. Our work was incredibly well received - here's what the charity's joint chairpersons had to say: "I wanted to say how impressed we are by the standard of the cleaning/polishing of our main hall floor on Saturday and the two young men who did the job were exemplary." #floorcleaning #commercialcleaning
