I'm in Oxford, UK all this week attending the #MastersEvent with
#GaborMate, #BesselVanDerKolk, #DanSeigel, et al. Today is Dr. Dan Siegel’s
#Interpersonal #Neurobiology and the study of #Mindsight Immersion, 9 to 5pm in the Natural History Museum, Oxford. 😎 🤗 😊
🌟 Here’s the third share from today!
"Information is not communication." Dr. Dan Siegel 👈 my favourite quote all day. 😝
We are covering:
✴ The breakthrough work from Harvard's Neuroscientist, Sara Lazar published in 2024 that empirically proves that a (wait for it) mind-body or... a trauma-informed - o...r a - mindfulness practice - or... any label that you want to assign to the thing, that deepens your brain/nervous system/awareness synthesis, REVERSES the trauma that we can touch and analyse on your brain/body that was put there from ongoing exposure to stress, typically from womb through age 19.
This afternoon we are moving through:
✴ Enneagram exercises, history, and schooling (with a warning not to pay too much attention to the survey that is argued to be flawed).
✴ Exploring the 3 motivation networks, as the underbelly of, emotion. (emotion has no scientific definition - and yet, they will use the word (primal) 'affect' when something moves inside us.)
✴ Primal Ethics as something we are born with. Not a learned behaviour. But when its not there... trauma!
✴ What happens when the Cortex gets involved in research. (In summary, cortexes can be @$$holes)
Here's Dan's book - Mindsight! My second favourite after The Body Keeps The Score by BVDK. 😎
