This work is not new. Issues of justice, equity, and safety span human history, calling each generation to grapple with the moral crises of their time. Amid a failing status quo that calls for inhumane and ineffective systems, visionaries and innovators across time and generations have seen a different path forward. Will we be the generation that sees them, today, for the innovators they are? Or will we be another generation that has to wait for history to shine its light on these #FutureFormers?

According to the Cambridge Dictionary, "innovate" means "to introduce changes and new ideas." But when we talk about how #cities are governed and their challenges addressed, how can we ensure that #innovation translates into an improved quality of life for citizens? Today, we're excited to release a new episode on Anteverti's knowledge platform #CitiesToBe, featuring Aparna Ramanan, Senior Program Manager for Bloomberg Philanthropies' Government Innovation program 👉 https://lnkd.in/d2kprjPD

On Wednesday of this week, my collaborators Michael Toscano, Jon Askonas, Clare Morell, Emma Waters and I published a manifesto at First Things: "A Future for the Family: A New Technology Agenda for the Right." https://lnkd.in/eqSbhUez With more than two dozen signatories representing a who's who of conservative leaders, the statement represents a re-alignment of the Right around a comprehensive view of the challenges posed by emerging tech and a holistic vision of how to use public policy to channel technology toward human flourishing!

We were thrilled to join Sara Innamorato last night to celebrate her administration's accomplishments. We're at an economic crossroads and need her leadership, resolve, and vision for a new path forward. The truth is, we can't talk a big game about growing the innovation sector and then run the same old playbook. We can't keep promising jobs, educational opportunities, and stability that we'll bring to communities while doing business as usual. More importantly, we can't keep telling our workers, students, and neighbors—the folks who want to start their businesses, invest their time, and raise their families in Allegheny County—that we're always almost there. We can't ask them to wait a little longer or trust the system a little more. Executive Innamorato and her team know that we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform how we think about growth, investment, and equity. If we seize it, we can finally build an innovation economy for all. #Leadership #InnovationEconomy #EconomicGrowth #EquityInInnovation #FutureForward #Robotics #AI #pghtech #InclusiveGrowth #AlleghenyCounty #GenerationalOpportunity #CommunityImpact #InvestInTheFuture #PittsburghRobotics #pittsburgh #roboburgh Jennifer Apicella

I've been in the Economic Development industry for a couple of years now, and one thing that continues to fascinate me is how it's not about competition. It's an industry where people genuinely want to help one another, working together to make their communities better. It's inspiring to see how collaboration drives success, with everyone wanting others to win, not just themselves. In our next episode of Voices of Economic Development, I had the opportunity to interview Steve Stroud from Roswell Inc,. Steve shares how collaboration has truly changed the landscape of Economic Development. #VoicesofEconomicDevelopment #EconomicDevelopment #EconDev #govtech #CommercialRealEstate
