Most frequent serious question we get from players at Konnectgolf: "Where should I play? I HAVE to set up some business golf rounds but I am not a member anywhere and forget about my client, I simply won't play a slow, 5 hour round unless it is on an amazing course." For someone like this, looking for private club access without making a membership commitment or initiation commitment to any one club, I often will share this article in response, and point to option #3, which is "Join a golf society." Golf societies often charge modest dues and over years navigate the local private club market to put together a calendar of golf events that allow a player to socialize and play a season of usually day-long events at quality venues for fees that range from $550-$750 each (going rate in Met region for a quality outing; incl golf, lunch or bfast, drinks, but excluding caddie fees if applicable). Konnect members now have access to one such society's schedule and events. Open the app, click "Today at Konnect", and the second item listed gives you full details and the application. 13 events on the calendar (all listed in the app attachment) all great venues in Westchester (most) but also NJ and LI. Contact details for the president of this golf society are listed in the app for further questions as well (note required annual dues for this society are $200). https://lnkd.in/eUAfmcTu

Shout out to the great work done by Jeff Blunden and the team at Golf Business Advisory Services in releasing their recent report - Governance Standards in Australian Golf Clubs. This made me pause, reflect and write my thoughts in this blog post on the progress we have made at Lonsdale Links in improving our governance capability in recent years. https://lnkd.in/gwwCpvu8

The gauntlet has been thrown down and we love it! Brian Searl from Insider Perks has thrown our co-founders into a human scavenger hunt of sorts and we want to join in the fun! So... 🎉 Want to score a free Campground Operations Assessment? Here’s your chance to win at OHCE! 🎉 One lucky attendee will win this exclusive prize by completing these steps: 1️⃣ Find Brian Searl and ask him what the odds are that the Calgary Flames win the Stanley Cup this year and what the #1 digital marketing strategy is for campgrounds in 2024. 2️⃣ Record his answer on your phone for proof (we need the receipts!). 3️⃣ Next, find Lisa Chocholik and ask her to verify Brian’s answer. Record her confirmation (and maybe some marketing wisdom of her own). 4️⃣ Bring both recordings to either of our founders: Greg Emmert or Jeff Hoffman wherever you can find them roaming around. 🏕️ The first person to complete all steps wins a free Campground Operations Assessment from Camp Strategy —a deep dive into your operations to help you streamline, grow, and succeed! 🚀 Only one winner, so don’t miss your shot. Good luck, and let the hunt begin! 🏆 #OHCE2024 #CampStrategyChallenge #OutdoorHospitality #ConnectWithUs

Earlier this year, Halex Consulting's strategic partner, Board Surveys, published a report into golf club governance in Australia https://lnkd.in/dZxSYZ7w It was launched at two very successful sold-out events in Melbourne and Sydney, with the CEO of Golf Australia writing the foreword and speaking at both events. Given the level of interest received down under, we thought it might be helpful to produce a short blog to summarise some of the key findings, insights and recommendations made within this impressive report. What is clear from the report is that many of the identified weaknesses and corresponding recommendations for improvement carry across into the corporate sector. Essentially, this report is a checklist of things to consider when assessing the effectiveness of your own board. We hope you find this blog useful. Sadly we can't help you improve your game, but we can help you improve your board. Get in touch to find out more. https://lnkd.in/djHWsxsA

Change is hard, but let's be honest.... Would you ever go back to dotting scorecards for events by hand? Would you ever go back to taking all of your tee times over the phone, on a clipboard, and manually counting rounds? Would you ever go back to event sign ups on the bulletin board? Would you ever go back to handwriting lesson notes or teaching without video? Is your facility considering doing away with POS and going back to carbon copy cart chits and member charges? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!! Change is hard, but change is also healthy, and Golf Genius can help! While I love the sound of persimmon on balata, I wouldn't give my competition that advantage. But if you are still taking special orders in three ring binders, or giving lessons with just the camera on your phone, or making your beginners learn the game from from the tips, you are giving every club around you who has already embraced automated communications, live mobile scoring, world class video capture and collaboration tools, and gamified program learning an advantage over yours! And they are not only RETAINING their golfers SUCCESSFULLY, they are courting YOURS!!! There is a modern way to do business that SAVES YOU TIME and allows you to focus on WHO AND WHAT MATTERS MOST. Invest in your staff and your customers today by adopting the best tools in the industry to modernize the event, retail, and teaching and coaching experience your golfers expect at your facility! Together we are #poweringthegame Click on the link below to schedule an appointment with your Sales Director or to schedule a seminar with professionals just like you who have changed their operations for the better with Golf Genius today!! https://lnkd.in/e7HSH-bF PGA of America Club Management Association of America National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA)
