I find the FOMO, or anticipation of FOMO, is so much more palpable than the anticipation of regret over missed productivity, late nights, and time spent staring at my phone in a cocktail reception full of people I don't know but who all seem to know each other. Who has a useful heuristic(s) for themselves or their small team in deciding A) whether to go to a specific event and/or B) how to allocate resources over time between innovation-focused events like SXSW, big industry conferences like AUSA, and events directed specifically at your sub-segment of the market (e.g. human performance, UAVs, etc.)? +5 points for responses that end with periods, not question marks.
