Internships make a huge difference. But the traditional experience isn’t for everyone. I’ve been experimenting with micro-internships. Instead of one semester-long experience, Students work with 3-4 companies. They get a problem research it shadow leadership shadow the people working on the problem do more research. Then present recommendations. Breadth versus depth I guess. Gets exposure to different kinds of companies. And less commitment on company’s part.
