Monday Morning Motivation American producer George Lucas made many iconic films #AmericanGraffiti , #IndianaJones, and the #Starwars universe. His hard work has also created billions in revenue. How has he achieved SO MUCH creativity AND commercial success? Lucas has a #BIAS FOR ACTION. "You simply have to put one foot in front of the other and keep going! Put blinders on and plow right ahead." - George Lucas << My team at Redline Detection hears this from me... Unintentional Brand Amplification The dust-up surrounding Jaguar's rebrand is a compelling case study in inadvertent marketing. What critics and commentators perceive as controversy can also be seen as a strategic amplification of brand awareness that you cannot buy. Why is this a possible explanation? Every critique, social media post, and news article mentioning the rebrand generates free, widespread exposure. Even negative conversation still constitutes brand engagement, and the polarizing nature of the rebrand ensures sustained media and public attention. That is until the next shiny thing captures our collective attention. Why does this happen? The rebrand triggers emotional responses, which we know and research affirms are more memorable and impactful than neutral messaging. Jaguar has transformed a logo redesign into a global conversation piece by creating a provocative visual identity. What's the quantifiable impact? • Estimated media impressions likely in millions • Significant digital conversation volume • Extended brand visibility beyond traditional marketing channels What appears to be a potential marketing misstep might be a calculated provocation designed to disrupt branding conventions, generating sustained global attention without traditional advertising expenditure. It's pretty impressive that many believe they're criticizing the brand while simultaneously ensuring Jaguar remains top-of-mind in the global brand conversation. And just imagine how that could be amplified even further if they switch back to the old logo...

As we say at Ford, be curious! Let's look at the history of Detroit. Did you know that the Cadillac car brand got its name from the French founder of Detroit? Founded as a city by Antoine de la mothe Cadillac, a French military leader and trader. Fort Pontchartrain du Detroit started as the new France fur trading post, it has French influence in the street layout of the city. Did you know that in 1920 it was the 4th largest America city (after New York, LA, and Chicago) and that at its population peak of 1.8M in 1950, Detroit was the nation's 5th largest US city? Original home to the native tribes Ojibwe (also called Chippewa), the Odawa (also called Ottowa), Huron, and the Potawatomi (also called the Bode'wadmi). Just had this amazing chat with Brian Sexton, the voice of the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Thomas McManus, a former NFL player, and guess what? We dived deep into the Battery Belt in the Southeast and touched a bit on the American manufacturing renaissance. Brian, with his deep connection to sports and the local community, brought up how the Southeast is becoming a hotspot for battery manufacturing, tying it into broader trends of technological advancement and economic development. Thomas, with his on-the-field grit, paralleled the strategic teamwork in football to the collaborative efforts fueling this manufacturing boom. It's fascinating to see how this region, traditionally known for agriculture and textiles, is now powering up America's electric vehicle revolution. The conversation highlighted how these new industries are not just about the tech but also about reviving American manufacturing prowess. With folks like Brian and Thomas taking an interest, it’s clear that the story of the Battery Belt is resonating far beyond the usual tech and economic circles. They were both optimistic about what this means for the local economies—jobs, innovation, you name it. It's a real-life example of how adapting and innovating can put regions on the map for all the right reasons. The resurgence of American manufacturing isn't just a return to making things but a leap into leading the next generation of high-tech industry. And according to Brian and Thomas, the Southeast's Battery Belt is right at the heart of it. #ignitingmanufacturing #theamericanmanufacturingsupercycle #evbattery #evecocsystem #chipsact #inflationreductionact
