Q) Is there a rule of thumb regarding the best concentration of calibration gas? A) At GfG the rule of thumb is to use a calibration gas concentration that is near 50% of the full linear range of the sensor. Part of the rationale is that testing a sensor at 50% of full range verifies that the sensor still has enough remaining reaction efficiency to handle higher gas concentrations within the performance specifications of the sensor. A hard restriction... I was tasked to wire in a relay on a mismatched RefPlus system with 2 different voltages to energize the liquid line solenoid coil. On start up, the system would not equalize to close the low pressure switch after the liquid line solenoid energized. I pulled the solenoid coil and used a solenoid magnet, still nothing. I reduced the spring tension on the TXV, nada. This was confirmed with my Testo Instruments - North America 549i. It's possible the TXV is slammed shut or it's filled with copper oxide. There are many brazes after the liquid line filter drier. It will be the installing contractor that will return on this one as it's a new install. #hvac #hvacr #refrigeration #hvacsystem #hvaclife #hvaceducation #liquidlinesolenoidvalve #txv #thermostaticexpansionvalve #hvacknowledge #hvactraining #refrigerationtraining #hvactools #refrigerationeducation #refrigerationtroubleshooting #refrigerationtools

Not sure how to calibrate your Macurco gas monitor? Click the link below for step-by-step instructions on calibrating the Macurco 6/12 series gas detectors. Watch Here: https://lnkd.in/gR_Ggw68 Macurco recommends testing and calibration at least once per year at a minimum, but depending on the application and risk potential of the application, a greater frequency might be needed. Check with local authorities for any specific local regulations *Calibration Kits do not come with gas. Must order gas separately. #MacurcoGasdetection #SensorCalibration #GasDetection #ProtectingPeopleandProperty #SafetyFirst

Is it time to service your Gas Detectors and calibrate your Sensors? Facility Safety Professionals realize the importance of keeping their critical safety instruments calibrated and serviced. Now may be time again for maintenance by the Sensidyne experts who manufactured the equipment. Sensor Calibration = Peace of Mind. Infrequent calibration of sensors will impair the accuracy of gas detection readings, and possibly result in the failure to detect gas leaks – resulting in an unprotected zone. Our SENSOR EXCHANGE PROGRAM delivers a fresh, factory-calibrated spare sensor to the customer’s plant or facility, allowing the customer to perform a HOT SWAP in the field, replacing sensors in use. The optimum method of gas detection is to place gas sensors as close as possible to a potential gas leak source. Leaks are most likely to arise from pumps, valves, flanges, joints and shut-off devices. If such locations cannot be easily identified, sensors need to be installed over the entire hazardous area. It is essential that the target gas can always reach the sensor at operational conditions within a realistic time interval.
