🏅 India is working towards hosting the 2036 Summer Olympics, with Ahmedabad as the main hub, and various sports planned in cities like Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Pune, and Mumbai. The aim being “a movement for the full country” 💰 The Naranpura Sports Complex in Ahmedabad, opening in March 2025, will cover 20.39 acres and cost Rs 631.77 crore. 🏊 It will feature an Olympic-sized indoor swimming pool, courts for basketball, volleyball, badminton, and arenas for wrestling, gymnastics, and table tennis. 🏏 Two major hubs are also under development: the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (SVP) Sports Enclave near Motera, covering 355 acres with permanent venues like the Narendra Modi Stadium, aquatics and tennis centres, and temporary venues for various sports And the Karai Sports Hub, covering 143 acres, with a 35,000-seat stadium for athletics. 👷♂️ With thousands of workers on board daily both projects are set to be completed by 2028. 🏢 India, having submitted its bid to host the 2036 Olympics earlier, is working to strengthen its sports infrastructure with long-term benefits for the country with projects worth 6000 crores across various states. 💪 While India faces strong competition from bidders like Qatar and Saudi Arabia, which have significant financial resources, internal issues with the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) need resolution. Phogat. Vinesh Phogat. The 29 year old from Chakri, Dadri haryana, 90 km from Delhi had the burden of 140 crores and counting people of India today, D day. We Indians are good at passing the burden for fulfilling our hopes. As eagerly as everybody was waiting for the match, saw this weird hashtag of #100gram trending on X which reminded one of my friend from childhood who used to be called, not for his liking as 250gram. ( dhai-so-gram). As I read the tweet, found out the shattering news of how 100 grams became the reason for the disqualification of Vinesh Phogat. Saw the Bajrang Punia tweet also, where he talked with Vinesh and shared and how she was over 2 kg and was trying to take all the extreme measures to shed the last 100 gram and have not slept the night. Well, that's we already know, but what can be done about such an odd event. Its a rather little controllable aspect for a wrestler and more than a wrestler it is the part of the coaches as the wrestler has to focus on the wrestling, the one job and the team around her can take care of the other parameters. Its just an odd event that has happened, and at the end there is nobody to blame, somethings just happens. Strangely, not giving any award for the person who has win all through is little harsh. But at the end, winning a medal is just label. Hema Malini also shared her views on how women should be cautious of the 100grams as it can matter a lot. It is important to keep the weight in check. It is a lesson. To end, everybody in the world knows she won at least the Silver and this unlucky event takes nothing away from Vinesh Phogat great performance in Paris Olympics where gold medalist are sleeping in park for better sleep quality than to sweat all night on cardboard beds.
