This call for inspiring local urban practices is the key starting point for URBACT's process of good practice transfer across Europe - a methodology that provides real learning opportunities for all involved. The publication below shows the added value of participating in URBACT. But, I would also highlight the publication we put together in 2021 to showcase the value of the URBACT #TransferNetworks (TNs) in particular, called "Good Practice Transfer - Why not in my City?". The publication makes it clear that good practice transfer can really work, though it is never a cut-and-paste exercise - the 'catchphrase' of the TNs was, after all, "understand, adapt, re-use". Another crucial lesson was that the original good practice cities also benefit significantly from the process. All the more reason to apply at this initial good practice identification stage! The examples in the publication are genuinely illuminating, but I can't seem to find it on the URBACT website. Does anyone have a link they can share? 🎟️ All dates sold out! 🎟️ The Hatch: Taronga Accelerator Program Pitch Night is next week, and all date/s for the live tour have now sold out! That means we have a full-house of people coming to Australia's premier venue, to hear pitches from 5 of the brightest #environmental innovators in the country. This has made my week for 2 reasons: 1. There is momentum everywhere you look in the race to tackle #climatechange and reverse harm to the environment - there is of course much work to be done, and a fair crop of laggards who need to catch up - but it's full steam (or solar) ahead. 2. Thinking back a few years, sitting in a room with a whiteboard mapping out Hatch with the legendary Belinda Fairbrother, Danielle Fryday and Paul Maguire PSM - or through the COVID years sitting on Zoom calls and missing the energy of a room full of great people - the day where we'd fill out an auditorium felt a long way away. Turns out it wasn't that far away at all. If you've missed out (and you're still keen to vote for Pledge for the Planet) there will be a link shared next week to grab your spot on the live stream. #socialenterprise #innovation #socialimpact

While it is the first initiative of its kind in the Arctic region, the network has a solid foundation building on the vast experience of EU international urban cooperation programmes namely the IURC and URBACT. We have big hopes and aspirations for how this network will support the sharing of knowledge and peer-to-peer learning to help Arctic cities and towns move towards being more socially sustainable, have greater levels of inclusive economic development and strengthen the local implementation of the #greentransition #SDGs 🌍 🌳 🤝 We have a stellar group of Arctic cities and towns engaged in the network - Bodø (Norway), Fairbanks North Star Borough (USA), Gällivare (Sweden), Harstad (Norway), Kópavogur (Iceland), Luleå (Sweden), Oulu (Finland), Rovaniemi (Finland), Salla (Finland), Sermersooq (Greenland), Tromsø (Norway), Umeå (Sweden), Utqiaġvik (USA), Whitehorse (Canada), Yellowknife (Canada) #eucommission #eupolicy #eugreendeal Video credit: @Ramón Zamora Martínez

Verbania joins the Cities for Positive Impact In a moment when more and more Italian cities are committing to embrace a more #sustainable future, Verbania emerges as a determined protagonist in shaping this #change. By joining the project "Verbania: City of #Positive Impact," the city positions itself at the forefront of an important transformation, seizing the opportunity to play an active role in creating a better future for its #community. And we at Minerali have chosen to join this noble project, to demonstrate our support for an initiative that we believe can truly improve the #quality of life for its citizens and contribute to the ongoing evolution already underway in many other Italian cities. https://lnkd.in/evZzDSRy
