Our Founder, Lewis Hamilton, launched The Hamilton Commission in 2020 to research the underrepresentation of Black people in UK motorsport. One of the key findings, alongside the report’s 10 recommendations, was the disproportionate rate of school exclusions for students from Black Caribbean backgrounds. Mission 44 was formed out of these recommendations, with a specific focus on building a more inclusive education system that tackles the root causes of school exclusion, and where every young person feels like they belong. Hear from Lewis on how his own experience of exclusion has led to the launch of our Nothing Happens in Isolation campaign. Take action to #PreventExclusions and find out more at: preventingexclusions.com

As the year comes to a close and we reflect on the impact we've made, we are excited to share the inspiring moments from the 6th You(th) Lead Conference, hosted by our community partner, the Pinball Foundation. Our partnership with PCF aligns with our Labour Market Intervention Strategy (LMIS), aimed at addressing systemic barriers and creating pathways for Black, equity-denied, and justice-involved youth to access educational and career opportunities. At the conference, our post-secondary students and alumni, through speed mentorship sessions, networked with industry leaders and executives from various sectors and industries, gaining valuable career advice and insights. It was empowering to see our current students interact with alumni, whose success stories serve as a powerful testament to the transformative impact of education and the expanded opportunities provided by #YAAACE. Here’s to shaping the brighter futures of our youth! 💫 #YouthEmpowerment #YAAACEAlumni #CommunitySupport #LabourMarket #LabourMarketInterventionStrategy Funmi (Lade) Oyapero | Liz Kamalando | Faith-Ann Allison | Dejon Brissett | Audrey Sanchez | David Piccini | Patrice Barnes | Jill Dunlop | Hon. 🎉 Today, we have a unique chance to make a meaningful impact and help #CloseTheGap in education for our Achievers at Friends of the Children NY. Why does your support matter? Consider this: there’s an 18-point gap in math proficiency between eighth graders from low-income backgrounds and their more affluent peers. This isn’t just a number—it’s a reflection of the obstacles our Achievers work tirelessly to overcome every day. Take Hunter, for example. With the guidance of his mentor, he transformed his struggles in the classroom into triumphs, earning a spot on the academic honor roll. Moments like these change lives, building confidence and paving the way for brighter futures. This Giving Tuesday, join us to help #CloseTheGap in education for our Achievers! Your support empowers young people like Hunter, a bright first grader who faced challenges with classroom behavior and academics. With the guidance of his Friend, Henry, and a collaborative plan involving his teacher and mother, Hunter transformed his struggles into successes. Through consistent mentorship, interactive learning, and encouragement, Hunter not only improved his behavior but also earned a spot on the academic honor roll—a milestone that boosted his confidence and set him on a path to future achievements. Hunter’s story is just one example of how Friends of the Children empowers youth to overcome challenges and reach their full potential. With the help of professional mentors, we’re closing opportunity gaps and fostering brighter futures for children facing systemic barriers. Donate today and help Achievers thrive! 💡 Join us in creating more stories like Hunter’s. Together, we can empower the next generation of leaders. Read Hunter's Story and make your gift today!

"We need to value the people for who they are, not just what they do." In our latest #BiggerThanSoccer episode, we explore our efforts to increase the number of women coaches. Recently, US Club Soccer partnered with WeCOACH, a nonprofit providing resources and education to help recruit, develop and retain the number of women coaches in our sport. WeCOACH hosted its annual Youth & High School Women Coaches Academy last month, and US Club Soccer presented five member coaches with scholarships to attend for free. One of those recipients was Ashley Ellithorp-Segner, of Club Ohio, whose passion for coaching is rooted in her desire to connect with players and her community. When we recognize the people who help drive our game forward - coaches, players, administrators, parents and referees alike - and provide them with opportunities to further their passions, our collective impact will be profound. Special thanks to our friends at DICK'S Sporting Goods for sponsoring the ongoing Bigger Than Soccer series.

Corporate College recently had the incredible opportunity to host executive leaders from 100 Black Men of America, Inc. for their executive leadership retreat. I had the privilege of leading a session titled "Education's Post-Pandemic Evolution: What We Provide Matters," and later joined Herman Bulls, vice chairman and international director at JLL, to discuss "Organizational Leadership, Governance, and Impact." Educational leaders, how do you see the role of education evolving in the post-pandemic world?
Cuyahoga Community College's Corporate College recently hosted executives from 100 Black Men of America, Inc., for their annual retreat. We’re proud to announce that we are exploring an opportunity to further partner with 100 Black Men of America through their Collegiate 100 program, a campus-based student organization that supports the development of the social, emotional and educational needs of youth who need positive role models. We can’t wait to see this program uplift our community!
