We're excited to share that we've led the $9.8M Series A of our portfolio company, Jome. Formerly known as NewHomesMate, and led by extraordinary Ukrainian founders Dan Hnatkovskyy and Sofia Vyshnevska, Jome makes it easy to buy new construction homes directly from builders in the US. Investing in them during their pre-seed round as one of our first deals was a no-brainer, and we've loved seeing their significant growth since we first met them in 2021. The team's dedication to the mission of making it way easier to buy the right home has been very moving. The companies that have significant positive impact and a strong business model are the ones that end up winning. As expected, homes are on the market longer and there are fewer listings coming to the market. In October, we saw this continue EXCEPT in Chester County. Everything was up: more homes listed, more homes sold and the average sold price were all higher than in September. This just means that there are still opportunities in the market, you just have to understand the local markets - and that's where I come in! Call me and ask me all your real estate questions! ... #localmarketstats #localrealestate #markettrends #localrealtor #realtor #realestate #theracingrealtor #racingrealtor #start2finish

We are excited to make a follow-on investment through u.ventures in Jome (formerly known as NewHomesMate)! Jome is building an innovative AI-powered real estate marketplace for the US new construction homes market, which significantly lags behind the US secondary residential real estate market in terms of innovation and digitalization. In a short time, Jome has helped many buyers purchase and homebuilders sell new construction homes in the US worth over $250 million in total. This almost $10 million Series A round was led by Geek Ventures, with participation from u.ventures, Toloka.vc, Vesna Capital, Roosh Ventures, SID Venture Partners, Flyer One Ventures, Forefront VP, and Network VC. For u.ventures, this marks the second investment in Jome, following our participation in the company’s seed round in 2023. Congrats to Dan Hnatkovskyy, Sofia Vyshnevska and the entire team of Jome on the new round! We continue to actively look for promising growth-stage tech and traditional companies with strong ties to Ukraine for investments through Horizon Capital’s growth fund, as well as early-stage tech startups with similar ties or roots for investments through u.ventures! Big moves out of Durham—Acre Homes just locked in over $10M in funding, a solid win for anyone paying attention to how tech is reshaping real estate. Hats off to CEO Mike Schneider and the leadership squad, including Kent Keirsey, Peter Crawford, and Irene Tollinger. With Anthemis Group leading the round and heavy-hitters like Sovereign's Capital, Home Technology Ventures, Studio VC, and Fred Tuomi backing the play, it’s clear Acre is more than just a fresh face in the housing game. Acre Homes isn’t tinkering around the edges of real estate—they’re reimagining #homeownership entirely. The platform delivers an alternative to traditional mortgages, lowering barriers for buyers with an innovative shared home appreciation model. Translation: You get into a home with less financial baggage and still share in the upside of its value. It’s tech meets pragmatism, solving a problem millions of Americans are grappling with—how to own a home without being owned by the process. What sets Acre apart is their focus on #efficiency and #flexibility. Customers save an average of $9,000 upfront compared to a traditional mortgage, with the potential to pocket up to $50,000 in appreciation over three years. That’s not just clever—it’s game-changing. For #growingfamilies, #firsttimebuyers, or anyone craving less friction in the #homebuying process, Acre offers a smarter path to ownership. The $10M injection isn’t just a pat on the back—it’s fuel for expansion. With plans to deepen their foothold in markets like Raleigh-Durham and Atlanta while scouting new territories, Acre is scaling with purpose. But the real story here? How they’ll continue to outpace competitors in a crowded, high-stakes space. As the real estate tech market barrels toward an $18B valuation by 2030, Acre’s model hits all the right notes—speed, precision, and a user-first ethos that feels long overdue. Whether you’re a buyer looking for simplicity or an investor tracking where the future is headed, Acre is a name to know. The only question now is how fast they’ll move from disrupting to dominating. #Startups #StartupFunding #PropTech #RealEstateTech #VentureCapital #Homeowners #MortgageTech #PeaceOfMind #Technology #Innovation #TechEcosystem #StartupEcosystem
