Galician Pazos - Overview The term "pazo" comes from the Latin "palatium" and refers to a traditional Galician manor house, typically located in the countryside. These manor houses, built between the 17th and 19th. centuries, featuring heraldic, religious and ethnographic elements, were the residences of nobles or important figures. Unlike classical palaces, pazos are more discreet, harmonizing with the landscape, and served both residential and agricultural functions. These buildings were usually constructed in strategic locations (elevated areas), to provide a panoramic view of the land and better control over the estate. They are characterized by their robustness and design, with stone as the predominant building material, reflecting the Galician spirit of tradition and resilience. Many have coats of arms on their facades, marking the nobility and lineage of their former inhabitants. Additionally, they often include a chapel, a reflection of Galicia’s deep religious tradition. Beyond their residential role, pazos played a key role in the regional economy, with fertile lands often used for vineyards, orchards, and farms. Socially, pazos were hubs of power, hosting important meetings, parties, and events that cemented the owners' social standing. They are living witnesses to Galicia's history and paying a visit is a journey into the heart of this magical land’s traditions. Some of the most spectacular pazos feature gardens that are at their best in spring and autumn, and in winter, they are part of Galicia’s famous Camellia Route. Today, many pazos have been restored and opened to the public, transforming into museums, hotels, or event spaces. A visit to a pazo is like traveling through time, connecting with history and the importance of preserving this rich heritage. Pazos are a reminder of Galicia's grand past and a legacy that should be enjoyed and protected by future generations. There are around 900 pazos cataloged in the Inventario Xeral de Patrimonio of Galicia, and nearly a hundred are on the market. Prices ranging from €350,000 to €6 million. #LuxuryInvestments #PazosGalicia #EcoTourism #HospitalityInvestments #WellnessRetreats #BoutiqueHotels #RealEstateInvestments #HistoricProperties #SpainRealEstate MARCELA GILLMAN

After weeks of planning logistics and manpower, the curtains of FHA-HoReCa 2024 draw to a close. It’s Singrass first official foray into the #HoReCa exhibition space, encouraged by a fruitful year establishing collaborations with various players in the #hospitality space. Our #indoorsmartecosystems not only created conversations amongst hoteliers, the displays around the 6 halls at Singapore EXPO attracted the attention of many education providers, F&B operators both local and overseas. We showcased our ability to improve the indoor air quality with aesthetic yet functional greenery and pushed our message out to more people about #sustainable #decentralised #urbanagriculture. We understand that business takes time to build and new concepts take time to to accept, so it’s heartwarming to receive many notes of encouragement from the visitors and other exhibitors over the past 4 days. We are extremely proud of this event, meticulously led by Hebe Lai Yu Wei and supported by Lucas Lim Claire Xiao Ben Teh Youwei Neo Tong Ai Keith Tan Lim JunYie. Not forgetting Maya Lee for their tireless work to coordinate behind the scenes and also Vera Liu for coming by to support and introduce networks for more collaboration. Now it is time to head back to reconnect with all the people whom we have interacted with and continue building more #ecologicalenvironment for #wellnessatwork Let’s continue to scale new heights! (P.S if you have collected some vegetables from us during the period of the event, do let us know your reviews on our page!) #FHA #HoReCa #singaporepavilion #STAC #hydroponics #exhibition #sustainability

"Nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed." - Antoine-Laurent de Lavoisier In late December, I had the honor of attending the visit of the Amerigo Vespucci—the iconic ship, renowned as “the world’s most beautiful ship,” which docked at Zayed Port as part of its global tour. The visit was complemented by a vibrant celebration of Italian culture, featuring music, art, and gastronomy. The Amerigo Vespucci is not just a symbol of nearly a century of maritime history, but also a powerful example of how tradition can evolve into modern innovation. As the oldest active vessel in the Italian Navy, it is now at the forefront of an environmental research project aimed at assessing the impact of marine pollution on human health and climate change. This project will collect invaluable data throughout its journey, supporting efforts to promote sustainability, circular economy principles, cleaner oceans, and healthier ecosystems. This visit underscores the importance of international collaboration in tackling global challenges. It serves as a shining example of how we can reimagine traditional systems to embrace modern, sustainable solutions, contributing to a healthier, greener future for our planet.

Today is the Dussehra (दसरा) Festival, and the leaves of the TREE APTA plant, i.e., the bidi leaf tree, botanical name Bauhinia Racemosa, are sometimes exchanged among family members and friends! Did you notice all Bauhinia racemosa leaves have two portions divided but always form an integrated, unique shape? And even more perfectly exemplifying a united but wonderfully diverse amalgamation, just as individual characters and experience in a team can meld together into something complete and beautiful. These leaves, delicate as they may seem, grow on a resilient and enduring tree. This is a beautiful reminder that strength often lies not in brilliance but in quiet perseverance. Like the tree and its leaves, we can coexist with kindness and strength, facing difficulties with grace and courage. Open hands or wings are linked in the two segments, composing the leaf to represent our welcoming views. A great way to remind ourselves of that is to be open-minded; doing so will allow us to keep learning and evolving. An open mind is essentially the same as a tree whose branches extend; they will not fundamentally change, but more opportunities for new growth support an optimistic yet realistic approach. The balanced shape of each leaf symbolizes balance, which is essential for trust in general. Like the leaf shape remains symmetrical, reliable, and consistent, so do people equally receive respect, becoming the steady roots in any community or team. The Bauhinia racemosa represents every virtue of teamwork, quiet strength, transparency, and durability necessary to create sustainable change for the good. As we celebrate Dussehra, I wish you a joyous festival filled with the essence of the Bauhinia racemosa. May you embody the virtues of teamwork, quiet strength, transparency, and durability in your life, creating sustainable change for the good. #Leadership #Teamwork #StrengthInDiversity #GrowthMindset #Resilience
