Today on International Yoga Day, what isn't yoga? 🙅🏾♀️ Yoga is not.. ⛔ Physical poses reserved for the most athletic or flexible (in fact, we don't have to perform any physical poses to ‘do yoga’) ⛔ Aligned to any one religious or spiritual belief system (Yoga is practiced by believers and non-believers worldwide) ⛔ Competitive, exclusive or limited to any particular body age or type (Coordinated outfits, expensive memberships, and sage are not required) 👍🏾 Yoga is... 🤩 A bringing together, of mind and body (Yoga means 'yoke' which literally is to connect or unify) 🤩 A technology for 'inner wellbeing’ (The goal isn't bliss, but rather an ability to ride life's inevitable challenges) 🤩 For everyone (Your body, is a yoga body) So... anytime you are intentionally integrating your mind and body through ✅ Movement ✅ Meditation ✅ Mindfulness ✅ Kindness ✅ Reflection ✅ or Breathwork …you are ‘doing’ yoga 💜 My name is Dee, teacher, educator and wellness advocate.
