The pre-final judging round of MassChallenge Switzerland is in full swing, and it's inspiring to see the most promising and impactful innovations competing for a place in the finals. Emphasizing both impact and viability, we are tasked with identifying those startups that can truly make a difference. Judging is a significant responsibility that continuously tests our expertise. As judges, we are always learning—not only from each other but also from these incredible entrepreneurs. Good practices often spread, and Swiss EP’s Entrepreneur-In-Residence (EIR) initiative is a prime example 🌟 Swiss EP introduced the EIR program in 2016, just a year after our launch. The program aimed to bring seasoned #entrepreneurs and #experts into emerging startup ecosystems, immersing them in local communities for at least a month. These EIRs provided invaluable insights through mentoring, workshops, strategic advice, and challenging conventional thinking, making them catalysts for #innovation. While we have shifted our focus to supporting more advanced startups and ecosystem builders, the concept of having international experts embedded in a startup ecosystem remains impactful, as demonstrated by the Enhancing Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and Investments (3Ei) project in #Cambodia. Our expert, Keo Sar, was pivotal in transferring this practice from Swiss EP to Cambodia.
