Earlier today, Nordic Angels gathered 50 of Sweden’s top corporate leaders at Matbaren, Grand Hotel, to meet and engage with the Nordic ecosystem. It was the first-ever Partner Day Luncheon, where Nordic Angels gave its best efforts to mobilize the business community, providing maximum value and relevant opportunities. Since this spring, Nordic Angels is the largest investor network ever in the Nordics, with everything we do built on high trust and strong relationships. Furthermore, we aim to increase it fivefold in 2025 and demonstrate the power of our community—and how everyone, including you, can greatly benefit as we mobilize over 200,000 business angels in the Nordics. In the face of current challenges, the need for a united front is more critical than ever. Our entrepreneurs, the backbone of our economy, find themselves in an environment where traditional financial support is hard to access. By supporting our business angels and entrepreneurs, we create more job opportunities, increase tax revenues, and strengthen our national GDP. It's an investment in our economic future that we can't afford to ignore. My entrepreneurial dare "In 2015, around the time I said 'I do,' I also said yes to a bold new venture—launching #Raydonwatersports by the seaside by the white beaches of Diani. We were young, fearless, and ready to dive into the deep end of the industry. We arrived in Diani with excitement, determined to take on the challenge headfirst. -We had the 'bring it on' kind of attitude! The road was anything but smooth ,💆. We faced numerous hurdles, it almost felt like many versions of Goliath at every step of the way from —compliance issues, being young outsiders in a new town, and navigating a business with little available data to guide us. Many didn’t even believe the business was truly ours; they assumed it was owned by a foreign investor, and we were just minions. Established players in the market were also far from welcoming, and we encountered intimidation from competitors who felt threatened by our presence. But despite the odds, we remained determined. Slowly but steadily, we carved out a name for ourselves as recognized player in the watersports scene. Many times in business you are not fully prepared for what the actual issues look like. Everything on paper is rosy and easily achievable, however resilience is built through experiences such as these that cannot be taught in theory. So keep going, it gets less bumpy as you experience things first hand. #grit. #enterpreneurship #learningcurve

Our Nobellum team was proud to be a part of the Black Innovation Zone at the Elevate Festival. This event serves as a hub where entrepreneurs, innovators, and thought leaders come together to push the boundaries of what's possible. The energy and the innovation on display was truly inspiring! We were especially proud to support the incredible founders from our Jamaican Delegation, who confidently pitched their ventures for award prizes. Their passion and drive reminded me of the importance of stepping out and making your mark. Putting yourself out there, whether it’s in front of a panel of investors or a room full of peers, takes guts—but it’s essential for growth. As entrepreneurs, it’s easy to get caught up in the challenges of building a company, but moments like these reaffirm why we do what we do. Confidence in your vision and company is key. Trust in what you’re building, take those opportunities to showcase it, and watch your hard work open doors. To all founders out there: Keep pushing. Keep pitching. What an insightful talk from such a kind and ispiring person. I loved hearing Margaret’s insights on the topic of networking. Like most things in entrepreneurship, knowing and living your values is everything. I’ve always said I love networking but I’m not very good at it (because I spend all my time chatting and it never feels like ‘networking’). I’m going to stop saying that because I’ve realised that networking is all about getting to know people and what drives them (rather than just finding out what they do for a living). Comparing growing your network to growing a garden was a brilliant metaphor from Margaret. You need to care for your whole network, which doesn’t mean everything all at once but making sure that you are putting energy into the right places at the right times. On a personal note, when I was introduced to Margaret she immediately knew of someone in her network that would be great for me to connect with for my Financial Literacy Education project. A true example of living your values. Thank-you so much Margaret for generously sharing your insights on networking (and your time). Through sharing so many valuable insights, you have given a group of start ups/new businesses a real ‘hand up’ when it comes to growing (and tending to) their networks. 💕
