For my network in Nepal: The application for the One-Day Feminist Conference (OFC) 2024 is now open! The conference will take place on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Since its inception in 2016, OFC has brought together over 1,000 individuals, fostering a space for diverse groups to engage in contextual discourses under the feminist praxis. This annual event has garnered significant attention, and we are thrilled to continue this tradition. This year's theme, ‘The Feminist Agenda: Tools and Strategies for Change’, reflects our commitment to exploring practical approaches towards gender equality and social justice. The conference will provide a platform for participants to discuss, learn, and collaborate on effective strategies for enacting change in their communities. In 2024, for the first time, we are sharing this space with other like-minded individuals to strengthen our goals to achieve gender equity and inclusion. With diverse collaboration and partnership, we hope to co-create a community where inclusion and intersectionality are practiced to dismantle systems of oppression. We also believe collective organizing helps us strengthen our voices and push the feminist agenda across the policy, governance, and regional levels. We have eight partnering organizations: Accountability Lab, Dalit Lives Matter, Dignity Initiatives, Governance Lab, Harin Nepal, Nagarik Aawaz, Tewa, and Yuwalaya. The conference will start with an opening plenary and end with a closing plenary. There will be two parallel sessions with two sub-sessions each and 2 side events. This position is full time, remote and requires an individual interested in the Sustainable Development Goals, Gender, Climate, in particular leading on desk research and quantitative analysis. This initiative will build on previous work, which mapped the regulatory landscape for gender inclusion. Recognizing that achieving gender equality requires both policy frameworks and financial mobilization, this project aims to deepen the understanding of capital flows and identify the funding gaps across various SDG-5 target areas. There is scope to extend the engagement to cover other pieces of work we are doing, as we grow. #gender #finance #climate #health

The We Are JAINE membership program aims to engage, and secure membership for select, aspiring professionals to join and actively participate in our esteemed organization through covering membership fees for at least one year. This program recognizes the importance of fostering diversity and inclusion while supporting the career advancement of women in the cannabis industry. Recipients of the grant membership program will be required to provide periodic progress reports, highlighting their involvement within the organization, their accomplishments, and any challenges faced. This feedback will assist the organization in evaluating the effectiveness of the grant program and refining it for future cohorts. Draft plan of action for the fifth phase (2025-2029) of the World Programme for Human Rights Education: The World Programme, proclaimed by the UN General Assembly and coordinated by OHCHR, aims to strengthen implementation of national human rights education. It consists of consecutive 5-year phases focusing on specific target sectors and/or thematic focuses. The upcoming fifth phase (2025-2029) of the Programme is dedicated to children and youth, with special emphasis on human rights and digital technologies, the environment and climate change, and gender equality (HRC Resolution 54/7). As mandated by the HRC, OHCHR has developed a related draft plan of action to guide implementation, following consultation with experts, academia, practitioners, youth and children themselves.
