🎉UPDATED socio-technical compendium of fact sheets on how to 'do' the local energy transition is here!👇 We’re excited to announce the release of the final version of the SERENE H2020 project compendium entitled: "Modular components of integrated local energy systems" 🌟 "(...)Based on the experiences gained at the project’s demonstration sites, we have compiled this compendium, which presents the technical, social and organizational components of local energy systems that we have researched and implemented in our project. The purpose of this compendium is to inspire you, as interested and engaged citizens, to see possibilities and discuss together how a sustainable local energy system could look like in your community. The compendium is not intended to be a one-size-fits-all solution to make local energy systems sustainable. You are always tied to your current legal, political, social, and economic situation. So, not all components might make sense in your case. Furthermore, the components should be seen as exemplary. Some of them are already operable, others are still under development. H2Vector has been very active this week, participating in events, testing and moving forward on key projects. 📎 We sing you what we have been involved in this week: ✅ Participation in the Hannover Messe (HANNOVER MESSE) During the Hannover Messe, one of the most important industrial fairs worldwide, H2Vector presented its latest solutions in the field of hydrogen technologies. ✅ Challenge San Francisco 2024 program (Programa Desafía) During one day, H2Vector Energy Technologies S.L. participated in the bootcamp of the Desafía San Francisco Program held in Madrid. This program is an opportunity to collaborate with other companies and explore new ideas and projects. ✅Participation in MadBlue (MadBlue Summit) This event focuses on innovation, science and culture at the service of the Blue Economy. It is a space where entrepreneurs, investors and leaders of the future come together to share knowledge and build ties that drive change towards a better planet and society. ✅ Participation in the second edition of the Science and Innovation Fair in Asturias The fair aims to promote science, technology and innovation and also provides a space for companies, educational institutions and scientific organizations to present their progress and projects. ✅ Technical tests: H2Vector's technical team has been busy performing tests on our hydrogen solutions. These tests are essential to ensure the efficiency and safety of our products. ✅ Preparation and installation of one of our projects in Seville: Our technical team traveled to Seville to carry out the commissioning of an exciting hydrogen-related project. The best regions in green technologies - interactive map EconSight has analysed 5,000 regions worldwide in terms of their innovative strength in green technologies. We show the world class patents for each region in renewable energy technologies, sustainable consumption, new mobility technologies, hydrogen, energy storage and efficiency technologies. Most of the leading GreenTech regions can be found in Asia. Tokio is the region with the most world class green patents, followed by Santa Clara County, part of Silicon Valley, in second place, and the Gyeonggi-Do region in South Korea. Munich is the best European region in 26th place. In addition to Munich, the five best regions in Europe are Stockholm (32nd worldwide), South-East Brabant (43rd), Helsinki (47th) and Stuttgart (50th). Introducing the #S3EStart Research Projects 🌟 UPWIND Research Project 🦾 The solution: The UPWIND team have created ZEPHYRUS, an Airborne Wind Energy (AWE) device that generates clean energy using a tethered kite and a generator on the ground. Thanks to its affordability and deployability, this system has the potential to help remote communities transition into cleaner systems of electricity production, contributing to lessen the use of fuel-based generators. 🧑🔬 The research team: Fernando A C C Fontes, Luís Tiago P., Manuel Matos Fernandes, Sérgio Vinha, Gabriel Fernandes and Rui da Costa. 🔬 The institution involved: Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto. UPWIND is one of the 14 projects selected to participate in the 2024 edition of S3E Start, the EU-funded program fostering deep tech research and entrepreneurship in Southern Europe.
