📢 “Combining #Ultrafiltration and #Nanofiltration to Obtain a Concentrated Extract of Purified #Polyphenols from Wet Olive Pomace” by Silvia Alvarez Blanco from Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) et al. 👉 https://lnkd.in/dEuUUTti The article presents an integrated process for recovering valuable phenolic compounds from wet olive pomace. The study addresses the environmental concerns of olive oil production by valorizing wet olive pomace, which contains antioxidants with significant industrial applications. The proposed process involves ultrasound-assisted solid-liquid extraction, followed by ultrafiltration and nanofiltration. Commercial membranes UH030 and UP005 (Microdyn Nadir) were evaluated for ultrafiltration, with NF270 (DuPont) used for nanofiltration. Results show efficient purification and concentration of phenolics, demonstrating the feasibility of this method for reducing waste and producing valuable extracts. #MembranesMDPI #OpenAccess
