Before starting your marathon cooking, getting dressed for parties, settling in for football games, mentally preparing for whatever family arguments or questions are coming later, or anticipating the food (whatever emotions come with that, positive or negative), start with this short exercise in GRATITUDE:
✨ 5-Minute Gratitude Exercise ✨
- Take out a piece of paper or open your phone’s Notes app
- Set a timer for 5 minutes
- Start writing all the things you can think of that you’re grateful for. Yeah, all of them!
- Like, fresh air? Electricity? People you love? Pets? Your sight, hearing, arms to hug people, music, your favorite scent? Flowers? Hot water coming out of your sink and shower? Indoor toilets and toilet paper? Food in the grocery stores and in your pantry? (Remember 2020??) How about gas in gas stations? Just keep going.
- When your timer goes off, decide if you want to go a little longer, or if you’re done for now 💕
- ENJOY your day, but keep that spirit of gratitude! Notice those little things as you keep going on with the rest of your day!
