The standard measurement tool for bathymetry is echo sounding, and the survey process involves using a ship, boat or unmanned surface vehicle (USV) as a platform for the sensor. An alternative is to fly a drone (UAV) to carry the Echosounder. Drones have a high precision in following planned survey lines and can be used anywhere where there is at least a small area for take-off and landing near the surveyed water surface. The versatility of the DJI Matrice 300 series is only getting greater, as the ecosystem of third party payload manufacturers increases. This time, we have a drone-mounted spray system for precise application: Utilising a rotating nozzle, this system can spray many different angles to achieve the best coverage. Developed by Wisson, a Chinese company, who revealed the Orion AP3-P1 at the China Drone Expo 2024, along with larger systems for pressure washing and high volume. Remember, you can't just buy one of these and start spraying with your drone.
