The process toward progress can at times be painful, slow, frustrating and down right aggravating. This multiple year effort will help promote navigational safety on the nation’s most critical artery of trade, a real economic superhighway. The results of this work will promote navigational safety for decades to come. WE WIN AND LOSE AS A TEAM, this is a great win and a sign that we have a lot of focus on the Big River.
My team has been working on this update for a while. Lots of research, coordination, and hard work. Thank you to everyone who helped along the way! So proud that it has been made public!

Fire behavior in 5-6 days in Greece, where we operated 6 Aircranes
Fire Colonel HELLENIC FIRE SERVICE - Forester Engineer MSc in Forestry - Chief of the Aerial Fire Fighting Operations
I work in the Hellenic Fire Service the last 23 years, I don’t remember ever a wildfire in the end of September early October to burn more than 7.100 ha and create this kind of fire behaviour. Everything seems new again !!! OroraTech has closely monitored the fire’s development since the first hotspots. Thank you so much OroraTech and Emili Ortman sharing with me this amazing demonstration, I am looking forward what future will bring us regarding fire spread modeling, early detection and so much more. #wildfires #firebehaviour #firespred #forestfires #fireseason24 #greece #satellite #learning #sharing #workingtogether

#wildfires pose an increasingly severe threat to rural communities across the country. The rising frequency and intensity of these fires call for #innovative #approaches to #detection and #immediateresponse. USDA Forest Service Baker City, Oregon's Airport #BKE is uniquely positioned within Pendleton UAS Range to lead #advancements in #wildfire management through the use of advanced #UAS drone #technology with #modern #firefighting #strategies. Current firefighting methods rely heavily on ground tactics, which are often hindered by intense heat and rapidly changing weather. Aerial approaches, though effective, face limitations when addressing the vast scale of modern wildfires. For example, had the Durkee Fire—a mere 15-minute UAV flight time from BKE— received an immediate UAS/UAV detection/retardant response, the state of Oregon could have saved an estimated quarter of a billion dollars. To meet this challenge, Baker City, Oregon, proposes a forward-thinking solution: leveraging drones equipped with infrared and zoom cameras, solar-powered systems, and advanced data-processing software. By modernizing its UAV fleet, the U.S. Forest Service could enhance its early detection, prevention, and rapid response capabilities, offering significant improvements in wildfire abatement and community protection of the surrounding 2.5 million acres of National Forest. Exciting times on Day 1 of the XPRIZE Wildfire #TeamSummit in Salt Lake City, Utah! The FireSwarm Solutions Inc, Exo Drone and ACC Innovation AB consortium is learning, sharing, and collaborating with a community of passionate innovators—all towards a common goal. And it's powerful. Grateful for the inspiring discussions and team presentations by Think Circuits Engineers and N5 Sensors, Inc. Today's panel discussion "Opportunities and challenges of modern fire management" allowed us the opportunity to get a peak inside the unique needs and challenges of fire agencies like Unified Fire Authority, The State of Utah Department of Natural Resources, Wildland Fire Solutions at Esri, and Wildfire Industry Collective. 🔥 Just a few of the key takeaways: – Wildfire organizations are recognizing that #wildfiretech can act as a powerful force multiplier. – Building trust and offering proven, dependable solutions is crucial. – In the past two decades, 80 pilot fatalities have occurred during wildfire incidents. As flight hours increase, so does the associated risk—prompting an increased appetite for change. – The potential for technology to drive positive impact in this space is immense. A big thanks to our hosts at the Eccles Alumni House, University of Utah, and all the amazing sponsors making this event possible! We embrace this opportunity to spend the week growing alongside industry leaders. 🙌 Andrea Santy Erin Rothwell Bill Anderegg Genevieve Biggs Anousheh Ansari Riley Pilgrim Peter Houlihan Anthony Schultz Claes Drougge Molly Drougge Max Drougge #wildfire #Innovation #Collaboration #FireSwarm #SaltLakeCity #XPRIZE
