The first shot is a singing Western Meadowlark, the state bird of Wyoming, with the word “LIVE” overlaid in white bold letters. The second shot is a view of mountains from a green valley with a stream in the foreground; above is Wyoming’s big blue cloudy sky and overlaid is the word “HERE.” The third shot is a herd of five elk making their way across a murky river to the lush green field on the other side, with the word “GIVE” overlaid. The fourth shot is a view looking down on forested mountains with a big rushing waterfall as the focal point, and the word “HERE” is overlaid; white clouds roll over a big blue sky above. In the final shot there is a dark teal background with the orange WyoGives bison logo above “WYO GIVES,” and underneath it reads “Visit WyoGives.org.”

Walk in the Park: Dog Distraction Class It’s a different kind of walk in the park at See Differently’s weekly dog distraction classes for our pups in training. At these sessions, volunteers guide the pups through various exercises designed to help them stay focused (despite lots of tempting distractions like other dogs, toys, and people). Sofie and Bree from the puppy team lead the class with lots of tips and tricks to keep the students on the right track! Teaching our dogs these skills early on is essential for them to become well-trained and reliable companions. We're looking for more volunteers to help raise and train our next generation of See Differently guide or assistance dogs. We have various volunteering opportunities to suit everyone. It's Friday, and I think we could all use a little corn and cheese. As in me and Deevon La Rue being corny and cheesy, and narrating this video of our coral restoration volunteering together. Yes, we are still working on raising funds to complete our gear and get additional research and conservation training certifications. Thank you *so much* to those who have helped us get this far. While also seeking and submitting proposals for paying client work. While also doing excellent client work. While also promoting client work (see posts on Mother: Sisterhood in the Wild film from earlier this week). And as Wes would like you all to know, "he be scrubbing too." And FYI, this isn't bad grammar, it's AAVE. This Friday, I wish you all the freedom to be natural, silly, cheesy, corny, joyful, authentic, and at ease with who and where you are in life. Even if it doesn't fit within the parameters of those who will never love you anyway. I invite you to do what you love, even if others don't understand it. I challenge you to seek and embrace the core of who you are, even if it isn't consistent with the "brand" you're told you need to have. If you like this, please subscribe to our channel, share, and consider donating! Below are some ways to spread love❤️: 1. Small acts of kindness like helping with chores. opening the door for a stranger, or leaving notes. 2. Show gratitude by writing thank you notes, leaving big tips, or paying for the person behind you in line. 3. Donating items to people in need, volunteer at an animal shelter, or give to a good cause. 4. Spend quality time with someone who is sick, laugh with a friend, or play board games together. 5. Send a song to someone that reminds you of them, or get in touch with a friend you haven't spoken to in a while. 6. Offer to help with childcare or give a coworker a hand. How will you spread love?😍 #publicspeaker #positivequotes #bestday #today #smallacts #openingthedoor

Can you teach philanthropy to kids? This summer, I tested the idea with my young girls by holding a lemonade stand to raise money for the local animal shelter. The problem? We live in the woods, so challenges abound. Here’s how we tackled the problem, big and small, that raised money against the odds for the Cherryland Humane Society. 🟢 Start Early Children can be generous at a young age, even as toddlers. I have oh so many studies to prove that. 🤔 Involve Them in Decisionmaking Let them choose causes to support. Once our girls knew that helping animals (real ones, not stuffies) was involved, it turbocharged their efforts to do the lemonade stand immediately. Which leads me to…. 🎨 Make it Fun These girls love their art (all day, every day, anyway), so crafting their OWN lemonade stand was a clutch move. ✅ Plan For Success, Anticipate Failure We live deep in the woods, and foot traffic is rare. So, while the above points made the girls clamor to make their stand ASAP, we set expectations that even a few hikers donating a buck or two would be successful. More importantly, we PLANNED > We hosted the Lemonade Stand on a sunny Sunday when hikers abound. Texts were sent (by me, not them -- What are you, crazy?) to neighbors and daytrippers who hike our trails. 🗻 Lead By Example Granted, I work in philanthropy, yet that is not enough. I cannot inspire anyone by saying, “Hey, look at me write this donor letter” while sitting at my laptop, nor can I expect people to support the causes I prefer. But I can try new things in new ways. I’ve never hosted a lemonade stand or visited a humane shelter. So, by igniting the idea and offering advice along the way, perhaps in the end, THEY were leading ME. Which is the ultimate end goal of philanthropy, right? Some start, some lead, some follow, yet all gain something of value. #Philanthropy #FamilyValues #MakeAStand

The NYC Cat Distribution Network is real! Check it out at https://lnkd.in/ezvMmAUv. We were inspired by everyone who responds when we get out the word about cats or rescuers in need, and we had this wild idea so we don't gatekeep information from those who need it in service of cats. Rescuers can use this form to connect with potential adopters, fosters, volunteers, donors & more this kitten season through a decentralized, self-reported contact list via Google Forms. Since the answers are public, you can skip all but a few questions (even if you simply want to lurk, please read our terms before hitting submit). This is very much in beta mode; report issues or corrections to your own information to catmuseumnyc@gmail.com.

Here are a few activities you can do together: - Donate food or organize a drive for your local food bank. - Create cheerful notes or care packages for seniors or military members. - Help clean up a park, beach, or neighborhood. - Volunteer at an animal shelter to help care for furry friends. - Host a kindness craft session, like making cards or painting rocks with inspiring messages. - Deliver meals or baked goods to community members in need.
