In fact, according to the team that conducted the research, Venus should be considered a vital target for astrobiology exploration. Explor is about to take on a #seismic #dataacquisition project in an area prone to #basalt cover. To help quickly describe the imaging challenges of basalt on the project, I turned to ChatGPT #artificialintelligence. It did quite a good job describing the general challenges - doing in 30 seconds what would have taken me 30 minutes. Then, for #fun, I prompted the #AI engine to 'turn it into a limerick.' Here's what it came up with: Basalt gives seismologists grief, Its layers are tricky and brief. With echoes that scatter, And signals that shatter, It hides what's beneath like a thief. Then, I prompted 'now, try a haiku': Basalt's echoes hide, Waves scatter, signals diverge, Deep secrets concealed. (I found the AI geophysics haiku oddly satisfying, so had to share.) 😀 #geoscience #poetry #geophysics #geology
