🌟 Yesterday, I had the pleasure of participating in the “Networking by the Embassy” event, organized by the Bilateral Chamber of Commerce Bulgaria Romania (BCCBR) and hosted at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Romania. A wonderful chance to reconnect with old friends and long-time collaborators🤗 and to make new connections. 🤝✨ Great company, good food 🍽️, and wine 🍷, and light conversations ... or not quite. 😄 We talked about the access to Schengen 🚪 and the shared desire of both countries to overcome this obstacle 🛤️, about "Лека нощ, деца!" 🧒🌙 and the times when we, the Romanians, used to see food more often on Bulgarian television 📺 than in our own stores, about the similarities and differences (mostly similarities) between the politicians in our countries 🏛️🗳️and about competition law (how else?). However, most of the discussions revolved around Apollodorus of Damascus 🏗️! Yes, indeed! All the participants in the conversation agreed, with a touch of bitter humor 🤭, that the best chance we have of seeing a new bridge built over the Danube 🌉 in the near future would be if we could bring Apollodorus back to life, Jurassic Park style. 🦕 On a more serious note, there was much discussion about rail networks 🚂, highways 🛣️, and bridges. Especially bridges. 🌉 To whom it may concern, closer trade relations 🤝 between Romania and Bulgaria need more than just people and companies willing to cooperate. They need also physical infrastructure 🛠️! #NewBridgeOverDanube! I take this opportunity to thank Doru Dragomir, President of BCCBR, for inviting me. 🙏👏 🇷🇴🤝🇧🇬 #Networking #BusinessRelations #RomaniaBulgaria #BuildingBridges #TradeRelations #Infrastructure #Collaboration

I recently had the privilege of meeting with the newly appointed 🇬🇷 Secretary General for International Economic Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Enterprise Greece SA, Mr. Dimitris Skalkos. Our dialogue focused on shaping the 2025 agenda for the Hellenic-ASEAN Business Council (HABC), underscoring a mutual commitment to strengthening Greece-ASEAN collaboration in trade and economic growth. We both recognized the transformative potential within Southeast Asia, where expanding opportunities can significantly benefit both our regions. I highlighted Southeast Asia’s immense resources and untapped markets, which we believe will drive fundamental advancements in the coming years. A pivotal point was establishing a strategic alliance between Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic - Enterprise Greece SA and the Hellenic-ASEAN Business Council (HABC), setting a foundation to amplify our shared initiatives and elevate future business delegations. It is encouraging to know our goals and vision are well aligned, setting the stage for a prosperous engagement with a region full of dynamic potential and mutual benefit. ✒️✒️✒️ __________________________________ #hellenicasean #hellenicrepublic #mfa #asean #enterprisegreece #trade #business #mission #delegation #alliance #economic #sociocultural #relations #aseanontherise #southeastasia #greece

A Delightful Courtesy Visit to the Stockholm Turkish Embassy🇹🇷🇸🇪 On April 25th, we had the pleasure of visiting the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm with our Swedish Chamber of Commerce board members in Türkiye. Ambassador Yönet Can Tezel and Commercial Counsellor Gökhan Örnek.graciously hosted us. Our visit was marked by in-depth and fruitful discussions, a testament to the strong relationship between Türkiye and Sweden. The embassy's tasteful decor, infused with Turkish elements, served as a fitting backdrop for our serious deliberations. As we sipped on cups of aromatic Turkish coffee, we delved into a range of topics of mutual importance. Our conversation covered various fields, including potential opportunities arising from recent NATO decisions. It highlighted the unique role of the business community in shaping relations independent of political dynamics. We also discussed emerging trends in green hydrogen, sustainability, digitalization, and artificial intelligence. We further considered the existing and potential aspects of our bilateral relations, the historical bonds that unite us, and our nations' distinct perceptions and images, discussing both challenges and advantages. The gathering underscored Türkiye’s role as a burgeoning hub for manufacturing, highlighted by its economic resilience and democratic advancements. This meeting not only reaffirmed the enduring ties between our nations but also illuminated the path for future collaboration and mutual growth. We also delved into the historical bonds that unite us, including the significant relationship during the Ottoman era. As we approach the centenary of diplomatic friendship between the modern Republic of Türkiye and the Kingdom of Sweden, it is crucial to remember that one of the first foreign missions to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's newly founded Republic was from Sweden. Overall, our meeting was an excellent opportunity to strengthen the bond between our countries and explore potential avenues for future cooperation and growth. #SwedenTurkeyRelations #BusinessDiplomacy #CulturalExchange #Innovation #Sustainability

🎉 A Historic Moment for Romania! 🇷🇴✨ Starting January 1st 2025, Romania will achieve full Schengen Area membership, marking a historic milestone in European integration. This decision, agreed upon in Brussels and set to be formalized by the EU Council of Interior Ministers, brings numerous benefits, including reduced travel times, simplified logistics for businesses, and lower costs for freight transport, all while boosting Romania's economic competitiveness. It also symbolizes the culmination of years of effort and negotiations, as Romania has consistently met the Schengen criteria since 2011.
