Join the team at Essity for a 60-minute webinar with an overview of a new clinical study and an expert panel: Michelle Gibb, Elizabeth Webb and Beth Freeman - Gray, to discuss the treatment of Venous Leg Ulcers (VLU) and the impacts of the study. There will also be time for a Q&A at the end of the session. https://lnkd.in/giwUuEUt At Essity, we are dedicated to improving patient outcomes and helping clinicians by providing optimal healthcare solutions. Healing a VLU can be time consuming and costly for both the patient and the healthcare provider. We are excited to share and discuss the results uncovered in a NEW clinical paper on healing VLUs with adjustable compression wraps. A prospective cross-over study involving 50 patients with a VLU aimed to compare 4-layer bandages and adjustable velcro compression devices. Participants received JOBST FarrowWrap (Strong or Lite as clinically indicated) in the treatment of a VLU in the community setting where efficacy, cost effectiveness and user satisfaction were assessed.

Check out our white paper that highlights the challenges of obtaining needed long-term safety data after CAR T-cell therapy and potential ways to address them from patients' perspectives.
🗣️ New White Paper: Long-Term Follow-Up Studies from the Patient Lens Patient perspectives are crucial for sponsors and regulators to consider when designing each aspect of a clinical trial, including long-term follow-up (LTFU) requirements. In a recent survey conducted in collaboration with #EmilyWhiteheadFoundation, we gathered feedback from nearly 100 CAR T therapy recipients and caregivers. Findings revealed that participation in LTFU declines over time, with respondents highlighting challenges like travel barriers and insufficient understanding of certain LTFU processes and purposes. These challenges may prevent participation in LTFU studies for the required 15 years and warrant the need for more patient-friendly expectations, collaborative conversations, and creative modifications to the existing LTFU framework for CAR-T therapies. #CART #CellTherapy #PatientFirst #PatientVoice #ClinicalTrials Read the full report on our website: https://lnkd.in/ecmPmBTE

If clinical trial procedures are not clear and confidently presented, patient trust can be undermined and lead to participant drop-outs. According to Director of Strategic Partnerships Will Ewart, training clinical research staff in how to interact with patients is key to participant retention. Read how simulation can support those efforts. More: https://lnkd.in/gpkkdDbZ

Patient need is a compass, and it is incumbent upon us to follow where it leads. For Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, it led us to develop a first-of-its-kind Guide to Expanded Access back in 2021. Now, three years later, and after positive feedback from patients and advocates alike, I’m proud to announce the release of a new 2024 edition, available here: http://bit.ly/3zBVnXs A resource requested by and co-created with patients, this guide provides patients, their caregivers, and their physicians much-needed clarity around expanded access – a potential pathway to investigational treatment outside of clinical trials for patients who are ineligible to participate in a trial, and whose disease has exhausted all available treatment options. With program requirements and details that vary country by country, expanded access can be challenging to understand and navigate. Now including 32 countries, the 2024 edition builds upon the original Guide and features updates directed by patient feedback and input. From the easy-to-navigate table of contents at the beginning to the glossary of key terms at the end, the patient voice is reflected across each page of the guide. It’s only by listening to patients and working with them that we can deliver the resources and information they need – something I learned firsthand as a nurse and continue to believe to this day. Being at the bedside of patients and working with families early in my career, I saw the sheer power of information. Illness is never easy to cope with but having access to the right resources can make all the difference. I may have retired my scrubs, but these experiences stick with me to this day and inspire me to deliver resources that are not only created for patients but with them. Guided by our bioethical principles, the Guide to Expanded Access brings to life J&J’s commitment to patient health and safety while enhancing transparency and clarity. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this effort – my Patient Strategies & Solutions team, our colleagues at Bionical Emas, and, of course, the patients we are privileged to serve. #MyCompany#ExpandedAccess#EAEducation

From HIT Consultant Media: "While cost savings are significant, the study emphasizes the profound impact VSOs can have on patient well-being. Frank McGillin, CEO of The Clinic by Cleveland Clinic, underscores this point: 'Imagine discovering an alternative treatment that is less invasive and has better outcomes… The difference The Clinic can make in the cost of care matters, but the impact of getting care right is even more powerful.'"
