When carrying out the stability analysis of a slope using the well-known software Geostru Slope Stability - Slope, the user has the option of placing an engineering work of his choice between: Walls, Piling, Tie rods and Reinforced earth. Selecting the latter will open the module Reinforced and Reinforced Earth - MRE. We talk about a module, yes, but we can safely call MRE a separate software, and I will explain why below. #geostru #slope #mre #software #reinforced #strengthened #soils #rearmed #analysis #stability #reinforcement #geotechnics #engineering

Just Some Slope Stability Analysis Checklist: (i) Verify geometry and dimensions. (ii) Review input parameters (material properties, loads, etc.). (iii) Review boundary conditions and verify groundwater conditions. (iv) Confirm stability analysis method and critical slip surface search method. (v) Ensure software settings are correct (number of slices and convergence) #slopestability #geotechnical #engineering

🔍 User Query: Do I need to redefine the mass source in SAFE when importing ETABS data for combined footing design? Answer: No, in most cases it’s not required in SAFE, as the self-weight of objects and imported loads are handled automatically. However, if you plan to define additional seismic analysis cases, a mass source definition will be necessary. 📩 For more insights or assistance with ETABS and SAFE, drop us a message! 💡 Get a month’s free trial: https://lnkd.in/dg3hR4Wp #ETABS #SAFE #StructuralEngineering #BuildingDesign #CivilEngineering #EngineeringSolutions #StructuralAnalysis #ConstructionTech #SeismicAnalysis #FoundationDesign #CombinedFooting

We’re counting on semi-round, natural structures to keep the lights on when the worst storms hit. Electrical distribution poles must be inspected at regular intervals to ensure the reliability of the electrical grid—even when everything looks up to snuff. Teams across the country specialize in boring and sounding services to check for rot and other dangers to the structural integrity of our poles. In some situations, trusses and banding can be added to a pole to reinforce and protect it. In other situations, the pole needs to be replaced. Our mapping, field collection, and back-office analysis tools are a good fit for these projects, but we’re just beginning to scratch the surface of how Katapult Pro can bring reliable utilities to more people by improving pole inspection workflows.

Article deserves to take a look. Introduced a fascinating approach to calculate oriented features such as: lineaments, schitosity, fractures, and other boundaries, through plotting georeferenced dots on the Cartesian coordinate system on any GIS software, in your office to reduce the field time. Despite an important factor that can affects these calculations - which is deviations in the drill hole - is been neglected, still this approach brainstorming.
Structural measurements in oriented core photographs: easy technique and free tool for all geologists.

Day 02- Basics of surveying:- In surveying we determine the relative positions of points on, above and beneath the surface of earth. for this we need an instrument called AUTO LEVEL. by setting it on a tripod stand and leveling it properly we proceed for further activities. The first reading taken is called back sight then other readings called intermediate sight and the last reading before station change is called fore sight. That is all basics of surveying
