Our recent work involving the synergistic effect of phytic acid and eggshell bio-fillers on the dual-phase fire-retardancy of intumescent coatings applied on cellulosic substrates is now available online and published in Chemosphere (IF=8.8). This groundbreaking work examines phytic acid, a naturally occurring phosphorus source extracted from rice bran used to synthesize phytic acid-based fire-retardants (PFR) esterification under reflux, along with powdered chicken eggshells as calcium carbonate bio-filler. https://lnkd.in/e5-aXs8Q

Given that the ears of sweet corn, popping corn and semi-flint corn were used for pickling in the pre-pollination phase, the effect of genotype and its growing stage on the chemical composition of Baby corn product was also taken into consideration. ◾The following image showing siderophore production test. Siderophores are organic compounds that bacteria and fungi produce to sequester iron from their environment. ◾The CAS (Chrome Azeurol S) assay detects siderophores by their ability to bind to ferric iron, changing the color of the agar from blue to orange or yellow. ◾Endophytic bacteria, Bacillus velezensis reacts positively in siderophore production test which I used to control rice blast pathogen, Pyricularia oryzae.

As a microbial natural products chemist, I’ve often found myself reflecting on an intriguing and longstanding debate regarding diketopiperazines (DKPs), a diverse group of metabolites. Even though it is generally accepted that these compounds are produced by microbes as chemical signals during cultivation, some studies suggest that some diketopiperazines could be products of heat sterilization during the preparation of culture broths. The origin of these small cyclic peptides remains a subject of controversy. I’m curious to hear others’ perspectives in the field. Do your findings support one side or the other, or perhaps both on the origin of DKPs like cyclo (Pro-Val) and cyclo (Pro-Leu)? #LCMS #HRMS #marinenaturalproducts #microbialmetabolites #metabolomics
