The Trade Show Services Worldwide division of the GACC New York was thrilled to welcome numerous U.S. companies to ISPO Munich, the world’s largest international trade show in the sports industry, featuring renowned brands like Patagonia, Oakley, Columbia Sportswear Company, HOKA, and Skechers. ISPO Munich 2024, which took place from December 3rd to 5th, attracted nearly 2,300 exhibitors, and 55,000 trade visitors. With 93 % of exhibitors coming in from outside Germany, ISPO Munich underscored its global significance. A standout feature of the show was the “Pickleball Village”: 2023 marked the debut of a Pickleball court at ISPO Munich, introducing the sport to international attendees. This year, the Pickleball Village doubled in size with two courts, proudly sponsored by Franklin Sports and JOOLA. We were excited to welcome tennis icon Andre Agassi to our courts, introducing his own line of paddles and playing a thrilling match with Pickleball Pros Patrick Smith, Basti Grau and Marc Wagener. Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s show, and we look forward to seeing you at ISPO 2025! Trade Show Services Worldwide GACC New York Inc. World Athletics has announced the launch of the World Athletics Ultimate Championship, a new event with a $10 million prize pool. This event is designed to give host cities a commercial stake, potentially transforming the landscape of track and field sports. Now, what could that possibly mean, long term? Here are my speculations💡 💸 Economic Impact: Host cities might see an economic boost ranging from $50 million to $100 million through tourism, sponsorships, and global exposure. 🌍 Global Bidding: Expect a diverse range of cities worldwide vying to host, possibly leading to bids between $5 million to $20 million to secure the event. 🏃 Athlete Participation: With a prize pool of $10 million, top athletes could earn between $50,000 to $1 million, depending on their performance and the event's structure. Could this new championship redefine global track and field competitions? #SportsBusiness #Athletics #SportsMarketing #GlobalEvents #SportsBiz

The Paris Olympics 2024 starts this Friday 🏅 While the athletes prepare, the US Olympic Committee is in the midst of suing Logan Paul and KSI's PRIME for trade mark infringement. Their claim is that PRIME used Olympic phrases and symbols on a special edition of their drink featuring basketball star and three-time Olympic gold medalist Kevin Durant (see the picture below for the label used by PRIME). The suit, filed in Colorado, USA on Friday, 19 July, also accuses PRIME of using the trade marks in online campaigns and promotions, potentially misleading consumers into believing there is a partnership between it and PRIME. In advance of and during worldwide events, it is common to see unofficial partners attempt to make a connect between its brand and such event. In response, as event organisers attempt to secure the value in such association, they will often attempt to enforce their rights. A common basis of any such claim is trade mark infringement. The end of this trade mark dispute will likely play out way beyond the end of this Paris Olympics. #PRIME #Olympics #LoganPaul #KSI #trademarks #trademark #uktrademark #uktrademarks #brand #brandprotection
