Digital technology optimizes production and increases efficiency. A prime example for this is the Schlote Gruppe, a manufacturer of parts for the automotive industry. Thanks to the #edgeConnector 840D from Softing Industrial Automation, Schlote successfully monitors the machining cycles of its #CNC machines. With a tool life of only a few dozen machining cycles in some cases, the tools have to be changed on average two to three times per minute. The edgeConnector reads data from the Sinumerik control systems of the machining centers and enables prompt and precise monitoring. This avoids unplanned downtimes and maximizes efficiency.
