Day 16 #20daysinDSMLwithAA Africa Agility Foundation I'm feeling rejuvenated and motivated, prepared to tackle whatever obstacles come my way in the week ahead. Right now, the saying "practice makes perfect" resonates deeply with my emotional state. Honestly, I'm proud of how far I've come 😘, and as I journey forward, I'll maintain a sense of joy for whatever the future brings. Discovering the transformative power of data and its influence on our choices and decisions continues to astound me. It's like unlocking a whole new realm of possibilities, realizing how data can shape our understanding and guide our actions. It's both fascinating and empowering to witness the impact it can have on our lives. As I delve deeper into this journey of discovery, I'm filled with excitement for the insights and revelations that lie ahead. Transitioning from learning to comprehend which problems can be addressed with the available data to crafting solutions involves a multifaceted approach. It requires honing the skill of extracting insights, posing pertinent questions, and employing appropriate analytical tools. Additionally, visualization plays a pivotal role, as does validating the statistical validity of the data. It's a journey that demands both creativity and precision, where each step brings us closer to unlocking the full potential of the information at hand. #datascience #techbootcamp #tech #girlsintech #africaagilitytechbootcamp #cohort7

What would it mean for your team if you lifted your digital maturity? This is a great method to get there. NZTech had a lot to say about this in their 2023 Digital Skills Report. 👉 In their very first recommendation – that we in NZ rapidly deploy the SFIA framework across the tech sector. 👉 Their research and expert analysis clearly showed that using an industry standard of SFIA’s quality would make a difference to lifting digital maturity in NZ. 🙋 What if you could use SFIA to lift your own team’s digital capability? ✅ Understand the technical skills you have ✅ Understand what skills you need ✅ Clearly see how to hire/acquire/deploy/develop your people in the ways you truly need? We at the Digital Skills Agency are leading global experts in SFIA. We’re passionate about digital capability. ➡️ So much so that we provide a free SFIA resource for NZ users (check it out at sfia.nz). ➡️ We’re sharing an intro to SFIA at Techweek NZ this year. ➡️ Join us at Techweek to find out what SFIA is all about and how to accelerate your own digital maturity. ➡️ See the registration link in the comments below! #goodfortheworld #techweeknz #techweek2024 #sfia #sfia9 #digitalskills #digitalcapability #digitalskillsgap #skillsframework #digitalskillsmanagement #digitaltalent #skillsbasedhiring #professionaldevelopment #digitalandhuman #skillsbasedtalent #skillsfirst #sfiarevolution

BPESA is grateful to Topco Media and the Sentech Africa Tech Week team for the opportunity to support last week's insightful conference and for Digital Lead, Neville Cousins to serve as an awards judge. Congratulations to all the finalists, and category winners! Key takeaways, beyond the fantastic networking and new connections, is the rapid pace of innovation in South Africa and across Africa. Application development, AI, and Data Science are leading many entrepreneurial initiatives, with a significant number being youth-led. It's also exciting to see FinTech creatively addressing many of Africa's financial challenges. Representatives from government highlighted their efforts in tackling infrastructural issues including sustainable energy and internet connectivity in underserved areas. Suggestions that more should and could be done on how to “leap-frog” the rest of the world were made by the audience. To compete globally, a stronger focus is needed on skills development, internet access, and startup support from both government and enterprises. Digital skills development, starting from a young age in schools, was also emphasized as crucial and robust conversations around these themes were hosted. Overall, it was a well-structured conference with the right focus, and the participation from many African countries which made it truly worthwhile. #BPESA #SentechAfricaSentechWeek #GBS #BPO #Digital #ITO #StrongerTogether

DAY 14 OF 20 DAYS CHALLENGE WITH Africa Agility Foundation Greetings dear professionals, it's been an amazing experience with Africa Agility Foundation I have been introduced to model evaluation. Model evaluation is the process of using different evaluation metrics to understand a machine learning model's performance, as well as its strengths and weaknesses. Model evaluation is important to assess the efficacy of a model during initial research phases, and it also plays a role in model monitoring. Performance Metrics: Model evaluation utilizes a range of performance metrics to assess the quality of predictions. These metrics include accuracy, precision, recall, F1 score, and the area under the ROC curve. Thanks to my tutor Onyekachi (Osisiogu) Emenike , also thanks to my tech support Moyinoluwa Adetola and Motunrayo Orebiyi , they've been amazing. Thanks to Dr. Aanu Gopald for this initiative. #GITBOOTCAMP #GirlsInTech #AfricanGirlsinTechBootcamp #gitbootcampcohort7 #AfricaAgility #africaagilty #datascientist #machinelearning

From humble beginnings in a small room with a few laptops, RLabs has morphed into the poster child for African innovation hubs impacting +6 million lives and graduating +2 million students with tech skills to ensure their future in a fast evolving world. With a resume this impressive, it comes as no surprise that they are both our host hub in South Africa, while also leading the Hubs Track at this year’s Annual Gathering. With technology hubs becoming a major node in the development of the African innovation ecosystem, the need to network and expand capacity in this space has been a cornerstone in the AfriLabs mission and that is why this is such an important track at the AAG 2024. Join us in Cape Town from the 5th to 8th of November as we welcome our member hubs from over 50 countries on the continent and embark on conversations on how to move Africa forward in the spirit of knowledge transfer and cooperation. #AAG2024 #AfriLabs #RLabs #AfricanInnovation #UnitingInnovation #AAGSouthAfrica #TechAfrica #InnovationHubs

The Data era has brought with it what maybe called as Technological Convergence, where technological gadgets are designed to multitask. Amazing ideologies have found its way in the Digital space through marketing under the so called Technological Convergence. It is beyond unreasonable doubt that Africa at large has been regarded as the place of inferiors and a dumping site where Digital Technology is still put in question. Thanks to Digital Africa for addressing this cause, and giving me an opportunity to be part of the Talent4stsrtups programme and the Tofara Online giving us the best training so as to prepare us for the Digital World. #TofaraOnline #DigitalAfrica
