In a remarkable celebration of resilience and determination, 21 young girls graduated from the Girls Tech Bootcamp, marking the culmination of a six-month intensive training program in Python programming and robotics. Empowering Future Innovators at the District-Level Computer Science Hackathon On November 29, 2024, the District-Level Computer Science Hackathon united young coders from rural, tribal, and urban schools across Chh. Sambhajinagar. Held at Hotel Amarpreet, the event was a joint initiative by the District Education and Training Institute (DIET) Chh. Sambhaji Nagar, the Education Department Zilla Parishad, Amazon Future Engineer, Leadership For Equity, and Code to Enhance Learning. It received an incredible response from the schools with 9,327 students registering. In the first round, 3,732 students completed unplugged coding challenges, based on their performance 30 finalists from 10 schools selected to the grand finale. In the final stage,these young innovators harnessed the power Scratch to design innovative games, animations, and apps addressing real-world issues such as Cyber security: Awareness, Addiction, Water conservation, and Environmental pollution. The event celebrated both students and schools with an array of exciting rewards. The top three schools were honored with prestigious prizes, including smart TVs, tablets, Alexa devices, physical computing kits, cash awards, and collaborative books. Meanwhile, the remaining seven participating schools were also recognized for their efforts with tablets, Alexa devices, collaborative books, and cash prizes. The winners are : 🏅 1st Place: ZP Primary School Mondha (Bk.) 🥈 2nd Place: ZP Primary School Kanakshil 🥉 3rd Place: ZP School Dhamni Adding to the excitement, the first-place winners will now represent the district at the prestigious State-Level Hackathon in Pune, showcasing their talent on a larger stage. The hackathon witnessed the gracious presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. Sanvi Deshmukh, Principal of DIET Chh. Sambhajinagar; Dr. Prakash Mante, Senior Faculty at DIET Chh. Sambhajinagar; Dr. Ujwal Karwande, DIET Faculty Chh. Sambhajinagar; and Sojwal Jain, Assistant Project Officer, Block Resource Centre. Their participation, coupled with the valuable guidance of CEL CEO Irfan Lalani and the unwavering support of the Leadership for Equity and Code to Enhance Learning teams, played a pivotal role in ensuring the program’s remarkable success.
