Happy Thanksgiving Friends! And yes, we have much to be thankful for... no matter how bad we think things are, they could be worse, and for too many, they are. When you get to my age, almost everything is seen through the lens of nostalgia. And Thanksgiving Day TV was not to be missed in my day... and no, not just for the after-feast Football games. Many would remember the spectacular Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, eclipsed only the New Year's Day, Rose Bowl Parade. Thought about those heady days of childhood in America's Golden Age this morning. Looked for the Macy's Xmas Parade, but it was only available with a subscription. The Philadelphia Parade, a solid imitator, was carried live on Roku through an abc-tv affiliate outlet in Philly. What I noticed amidst all the great musical entertainment, bands and dancers, was the number sponsored by 'charity' or representing charitable causes. And Ads, one presumes, were making Corporate media large amounts of money, given the numerous commercial minutes and announcements. Even our charities are profitable business. Which left me with the distinct impression we aren't economically better off, 60 years later, with trillions more in Wall St. value, and astronomical personal fortunes among the top 1/10 of 1%. Multi-Billionaires are the new 'Millionaires'. With globalized capitalism, one suspects the North Pole is someone's corporate subsidiary, the elves are contract foreign labor, and the big man himself is just seasonal help - no benefits and certainly no retirement plan. ;-) Memories of better times never die, they just fade away with those who kept them. Consistent with today's economics, Santa has just showed up in Philly, courtesy of Blue Cross - as insurance is the most profitable business in the US, while there is some question of how much longer Macy's will be able to hang on in brick and mortar retail. The Amazon Thanksgiving Day Parade? Having trouble envisioning the Holiday Spirit in warehouses full of robots. Maybe they can dress them up as elves? Less than 4 shopping weeks till Christmas Dear Hearts. Yes, the days do get shorter, when the days dwindle down to a precious few... Let's make the most of them. One more day, one day more.

Christmas post (in January), coming in hot! Have you seen Klaus, on Netflix yet? The first time I watched, it instantly became one of my top Christmas movies. Ever. And this is why: “A true act of goodwill always sparks another.” The thing everyone remembers during Christmas season is how awesome it feels to forget themselves and do stuff for other people. What if that continues past December? What we accomplish with Build then Bless spreads that kindness, those true acts of goodwill, to the other months—to each day, even, for all people. We all get some money from the company each month to spend on blessing other lives. We all encounter different people in our communities, different chances to serve, to reach out, to connect. Each one of those micro interactions is an opportunity to for a ripple effect of goodwill! How many more people will we meet? What untold stories will we uncover? Ask anyone on my team about how Build Then Bless has impacted them. About how they’ve improved their own quality of life. About what it’s doing for their family. Next time a thought comes to your head about something good you could do for someone else, stop debating with yourself and do it! I’ll say it again: a true act of goodwill always sparks another. #goodwill #buildthenbless #sparkkindness

Cohesion doesn’t happen overnight. When our Brand Team was created at the start of this year, we knew we were embarking on a journey that would challenge us to rethink processes, break down silos, and align product, institutional, and researcher marketing like never before. It’s been a year of growing pains and meaningful progress. We’ve created shared templates, invested in newer CDP and data integration platforms, bridged workflows with the DMO team, and worked more closely with sales to scale our efforts globally. Most importantly, we’ve fostered a culture of collaboration that will serve us—and our customers—well into the future. I’m excited to continue this momentum and see what we can accomplish in 2025! #holidaymiracle #teamworkmakesthedreamwork #cohesioninaction #collaborationgoals #marketinginnovation #marketingalignment

Thursday Tidbit: A “plan” for Thanksgiving Day - 14 days away! Thanksgiving is all about family, friends, food, football, sharing laughter, and creating lasting memories. If you are looking to add a little extra fun to your gathering, here are 5 activities that everyone can enjoy! 1. Gratitude Jar – Have everyone write down something they’re thankful for on a slip of paper and put it in a jar. Read them aloud during dinner to share gratitude as a group. 2. Thanksgiving Scavenger Hunt – Create a list of fall-themed items for kids (and adults!) to find in the yard or around the house. This can include acorns, fall leaves, a mini pumpkin, or even silly things like “someone wearing a funny hat.” 3. Pumpkin Bowling – Set up some plastic cups as bowling pins, and use a small pumpkin as the “bowling ball.” It’s easy, fun, and provides a unique seasonal twist on a classic game. 4. Family Trivia Game – Create a trivia game with questions about family history, fun facts, and Thanksgiving traditions. This is a great way to bond, learn new things about each other, and share family memories. 5. DIY Photo Booth – Set up a mini photo booth with props like pilgrim hats, turkey masks, and fall-themed accessories. It’s a fun way to capture memories and will make for some hilarious and heartwarming photos to look back on! 🦃🍂 #Thanksgiving #FamilyFun #HolidayTraditions

Have you planned your family gathering activities for Thanksgiving? I found these fun games you can enjoy! Thanksgiving Charades Write down Thanksgiving-related phrases or items on slips of paper. Divide into teams and act out each phrase without speaking while the team guesses. Turkey Hunt Set up a scavenger hunt around the house or yard with Thanksgiving-themed items or clues. Use small turkey decorations or fall-themed items, and hide them in creative places. Thanksgiving Pictionary Similar to charades, but played by drawing instead of acting. Set a timer and have each team guess the Thanksgiving-themed word or phrase being drawn. Gratitude Hot Potato Pass a small item around (like a mini pumpkin) while music plays. When the music stops, the person holding the “hot potato” has to share something they’re thankful for. Pin the Feather on the Turkey Have a large turkey drawn or printed and a set of colorful “feathers” with double-sided tape. Blindfold players, spin them around and have them try to place the feather as close to the turkey's tail as possible. Thanksgiving Trivia Prepare a list of Thanksgiving-themed trivia questions. Divide into teams, and see who knows the most about the holiday! Thankful ABCs Go around the table and take turns saying something you're thankful for, starting with each letter of the alphabet. Pumpkin Bowling Set up a mini bowling lane with empty plastic bottles or paper rolls for pins and use a small pumpkin as the ball.

"Happy Christmas! Wait- today’s not Christmas? Ever doubted for a second that maybe… just maybe… today is Christmas? 🎄🎅 Hold on- Think about it. Even if it’s not December, not even the 25th, the thought crosses your mind: ‘Wait, what if?’ Strange, isn’t it? The power of words, the sway of a suggestion. We often follow the flow, even when deep down we know something’s off. We hear someone say, ‘It’s Christmas!’ and suddenly, we question ourselves. Are we wrong, or are they just pulling our leg? 🤷♂ People will always have comments on what you're doing, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re right or that you’re wrong. It’s our responsibility to discern what’s true and what’s not before taking others' words at face value. Think critically before letting someone else’s opinion sway you. So, today isn’t Christmas... but it’s a great day to start thinking for yourself. Don’t just accept what’s handed to you—challenge it, question it, and make sure you’re on the right path. 🚀 By the way, don’t forget to take a look at my 🎅 Santa illustration! 🎨 . . . #CriticalThinking #ThinkDifferently #illustrations #illustrationartist

How was your Thanksgiving — filled with laughter, love, and connection, or memorable for all the wrong reasons? Across the country, families gathered around turkey and dressing, sharing stories and giving thanks for their blessings. But not everyone’s Thanksgiving was picture-perfect. Some faced the bittersweet absence of loved ones, family tensions, or obstacles that kept them apart. Even if this year wasn’t all you hoped for, think back to the moments that shaped you — joyful or challenging. Those experiences taught you lessons, shaped your values, and instilled a wisdom that defines who you are today. That hard-earned wisdom and the values you hold dear are the foundation of your legacy. Imagine the impact those stories and lessons could have on your children, grandchildren, and beyond. Preserving them isn’t just about reflection — it’s about making sure the best of you lives on. This holiday season, take a moment to reflect: What stories, lessons, and values are you thankful for? How will you ensure they’re remembered? Your legacy deserves to be treasured.
