As a result, we were invited to present this good practice at the online event "Improving Labour Market Integration of Young People", organized by Interreg Europe. This initiative provides financial aid to businesses aiming to decarbonise the economy and advance industrial reindustrialisation. Three industrial territories in Guadeloupe—Cap Excellence, Marie-Galante, North Grande Terre, Grand Sud Caraïbes, and North Basse-Terre—have been designated for this programme. The fund supports projects in areas like circular economy and new mobility, US$220,000. Eligible applicants include private companies, employer groups, and training establishments. ZM: China Commits to Supporting Zambia’s Infrastructure and Agriculture Development Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, His Excellency Han Jing, has reaffirmed China's commitment to advancing Zambia’s road infrastructure and strengthening regional connectivity. During a courtesy call on Northern Province Permanent Secretary, Mr. Bernard Mpundu, Ambassador Han Jing acknowledged President Hakainde Hichilema’s vision to position Zambia as a continental hub and pledged China’s support in achieving this goal. Ambassador Han Jing highlighted China’s growing interest in revitalizing key infrastructure, including the Tanzania-Zambia Railway (TAZARA) and the development of the Lobito Corridor, to enhance trade and mobility across southern Africa. “With China’s support, Zambia is poised to become a major transportation hub, facilitating trade and boosting regional connectivity,” he stated. The Ambassador also emphasized China’s focus on strengthening cooperation in agriculture, particularly in Northern Province. He noted the region's potential due to its vast arable land and favorable soil conditions. “We hope to attract more investors to mobilize resources for the fisheries and agriculture sectors. Agriculture is a key area of cooperation between China and Zambia,” he added. In response, Permanent Secretary Mpundu urged China to consider investing in water transport on Lake Tanganyika and expanding Mpulungu Harbor. “The potential is enormous. Expanding Mpulungu Harbor will promote trade with eastern Congo and other East African countries,” he said. Mr. Mpundu also expressed optimism about Chinese investment in agriculture, tourism, and other sectors, emphasizing the transformative potential of enhanced bilateral collaboration.
